Why no World Cup T20 in 2018?

Having world cup every 2 years is just stupid and on the top we have another ODI worldcup. In 2009 and 2010 we had back to back T20 world cup and then in 2011 ODI world cup. Some real dumbhead planning there.

We could have had one in 2018. Not sure why the idea is scrapped. After all the tournament is short and it is well received from fans.

It is a small and entertaining tournament , nothing wrong in having it in 2 years unless more teams improve to compete

3 world cups of cricket in 4 years? Too much of something is also bad. With less teams its more bad, every team will be holding 5 or 6 world cup titles in a decade. Cricket is already confused game in most parts of the world.

They are different formats , There is hardly any T20  international cricket, It is the only  through World T20 , country teams play together

Looking at the record crowds for the World Twenty20, I think there is a need for ICC to reconsider their decision to hold the next edition in 2020.

May be ICC is coming up with test championship every 4 years?

 

If they are not going to do test championship, ICC should keep the T20 championship every 2 years and get rid of champions trophy , since enough ODIs are played anyways.

 

Also ICC should consider 16 teams for T20 WC. Fomat 2011 WC.

 

Its ridiculous to have next tournament in 2020, when people need quick fix every 2 years.

This was the best format , first let minnows play and then top minnows can compete with the rest.Each and every game was must win for teams unlike 2011 where all that matter was 3 games for a team

Every 4 years is fine, otherwise you are killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

 

But we need to see less meaningless bilateral 5 match ODI series. Replace the common tour -   3 tests, 5 ODIS and 1 or 2 T20s with 3 Test, 3 ODIs and 3 T20s

ICC has to plan for a future when T20 is going to be the most preferred format.  T20 world cup once in 4 years is alright. But maybe we should have more T20 multiple country tournaments. Asia cup has already become t20 cup. Expand it to include top associates by ranking (giving more weightages to wins against test team) so that good teams like AFG can  play more frequently. 

 

Also what is stopping ECB for having a EU T20 cup - get Ireland, Scotland, Ned etc. to play with them(maybe include WI and make it Western hemisphere cup). NZ/Aus/SA/Zim can have their southern hemisphere t20 cup (happens in Rugby)

4 year is fine if ICC conduct it like proper world cup , It is still conducted like champions trophy, even in 75 to 87 there were 4 team in each group and they all play twice with each team , T 20 world cup is still not played like ODI, lets have it in 4 years if 10 teams play each other with top 4 reaching semi's like 92 format of WC

Yeah too many icc tournaments played recently,need to maintain its exclusivity.

Wt20 should occur every 3 years ,CT and and Wc every 4 years

This should be the last champions trophy. The last one should have been the end but ICC somehow squeezed in one more.

Bangladesh wont play in Pakistan. India wont play in UAE. Some other venue please.

To you and me it might sound stupid but to the associates it does not. Poor guys barely gets to play against the big boys. This is their only way to get to show their skills to the world. 4 years can bring a lot of changes in a players life, unfrotunetly associate players don't have the luxary of 4 years
