may be Aussie Cricket Board felt that anyways PWNE are not going anywhere, Smith can get home and be ready for next international assignment.

If thats the case thats very unprofessional, every season teams are at bottom and that happens in every tournament

Running away as a senior player is nt done, specially when ur team is in trouble

This is terrible for Pune and the IPL. This IPL has been a little dull and losing Smith will make it worse.

Looks like there are differences with Dhoni. Most foreign players don't have defensive mindset and find it strange to suddenly find themselves in a defensive team..,

I didn't know Dhoni is so powerful that he can magically cause injuries to other players.

Why you need magic?? He can ask Smith to practice wrist twisting technique :dontknow:

Players can always feign injury to get out and away from same run of the mill defensive captaincy... :dontknow:

For many players, money is not the only motivation... Many players don't have defensive mindset and strongly believe in winning matches by playing fast and attacking cricket... Smith gave a good launching pad yesterday but might be massively disappointed in witnessing a 24 runs in 24 balls innings... Then might've got bored watching same old slow and trundling defensive approach...

Huge blow to RPS. Smith was the only good batsman left in the team and he was in great form. They can still play Khawaja though. So all is not lost. They can probably bring in a good fast bowler as replacement for Smith to compensate for this piss poor bowling attack. This whole season has been for a nightmare for captain cool and RPS. Good thing for him though is that he has got his excuses now. :giggle:

Another blessing in disguise :hmmm:

To be honest, this does not looks good for IPL. Pune team was already struggling to replace its injured players and now this. They are already in the bottom and now their best player is out.

Not yet , they are still fighting to reach there...
