T20s curbing fast bowlers?

Are new cricketers more tentative towards spin/slow ball bowling than fast bowling because clearly slow ball bowlers have more success in T20s ? Hardly any out right fast bowlers shinning in last few months..especially from India.  Your thoughts...

There are not too many out and out fast bowlers now a days...even few speedsters struggle to adapt.

That's my point. Are fast bowlers turning towards medium pace and variation because it's more successful in T20s ? And forgetting how to use pace to outdo batsmen?

I think that has been the case in IPL in so many seasons because pitches are conducive to spinners/slow bowlers.  Among the Indian fast bowlers(who can bowl 135+) BK has been the standout performer(SR - 15.5 and eco - 8). Apart from that one poor performance against RCB he has been brilliant. Bumrah and Dinda have done well too. Among the slow bowlers(<130K) who have done well is Bhatia and to some extent Sandeep. Among the quicker bowlers(who can bowl 140+) none of them have performed well consistently.

Shami has been average started off well but was horrible in the last match.

Umesh was good in the initial matches where he was picking wickets consistently(S.R 14.4 and eco - 9) but in the last 2 matches he has been mediocre.

Ishant started off ok but then gave away lot of runs in the next matches and was dropped.

Aaron has been average though he has played only 3 matches till now.

Its because of the pitches. On pitches that grip and ball keeps low(most of the pitches in India) fast bowlers are better off bowling lot of slower ones. If the pitch has good bounce then you will see the same quicker bowlers bending their backs and bowling quick. It has to do fast bowlers adapting to the pitch.

Exactly.  We saw in  Asia Cup how pacers were dominating matches throughout the tournament. In many outside the subcontinent T20 matches, as well as in Bangladesh....we will see pacers dominating even in T20 matches.

The slowish gripping wickets we are getting in India this season for the IPL will not help fast bowlers do well unless they have excellent yorkers like Starc, Bumrah, Malinga

yes, it is just a perception that we dont have out and out fast bowlers now because of flat pitches, big bats, and batsmen playing fearless cricket.
