It requires some extra ordinary skill to do this

8(22)...oh boy.

Ultimate champion

And that match winnings innings of 41(38) against RCB :hatsoff:

Obviously it is extremely difficult. Ask any professional cyclist. Cycling fast is relatively easy. But cycling slowly and maintaining that low speed requires higher level of concentration and stamina. The strain on the muscles is higher. Batting in T20 WC is not very different.

What do you expect him to do with wickets falling quickly at the other end. He can't predict the weather.

8 runs of 22 balls is useless as it is always going to lose the match. I dont think De Villers or even Kohli would play like that even if 9 wickets are down

Wrong. He came in to bat in the 11th over when the 4th wicket fell. Getting 8 off 22 could be justified if the pitch was a minefield and the 4th wicket had fallen in the 2nd over. The 5th wicket was entirely his fault. For a start, if he had not even played a shot on that ball, it would have been called a wide. He tried running a non existent single and then bullied the runner, who had rightly stood his ground into sacrificing his wicket. Absolutely despicable!

Even in the 18th over, he plays 4 balls and gets a single before rain stops his pathetic charade.

@HippoSucks just pretends to be rational, he is one of the blind Dhoni fans who cannot see a single fault in his idol

I remember a kid in school who used to always do something stupid and get into trouble and his parents were always called in....one time literally his mom was crying and pleading this guy to make a change but the guy would not react and continue with the same crap.

I used to think he was shameless but now I realized the term that should be used for him is cool.

Dhoni has double standards and is not a stand up guy

for eg, he continued to make  a big deal about the Anderson Jadeja issue even after Anderson apologized and everyone moved on....yes Anderson was the cunt here but after a while you need to move on after a certain point and focus on the game-what happens we get thrashed and lose our advantage.

in South Africa Sreeshanth was in great rhythm and we were on a cusp of an historic series win and what does he do? The mofo gives a dressing down to Sree in public and the mental midget Sree loses it and that was the end of that....apparently smith had complained....any captain with balls would have said smith to * off  but our captain cool was playing the diplomat....Bhajji might not have used a racist slur but we know he can be obnoxious....look how kumble, Sachin etc stood by him....sachin took a big gamble as he had great admiration from Aussies as well but what did sachin do...stood by his teammate come whatever.

yeah Dhoni was a fantastic player for us but he is no greatest thing since slice bread....undid a lot of great work of the previous generation.

4 down with 9 overs to go, Irfan at the other end and only Perera remaining. What do you expect him to do? Risk not even batting out 20 overs?

120 or 130 doesn't make a difference. Should have gone for at least 150 to 160 which was only around 10 runs an over. Would have given them a chance. That was a total pointless innings . any tail ender would have got 8(22) ..what's the point of playing full 20 overs when you are defending every ball in the 16th itself.

So 8 of 22 a s/r of just about 40 is the option in a t20 game where defending is generally difficult?

That too when you are supposedly a power hitter.... Eng,wi,Aus,nz and sa will never have a player play such innings

Last few balls of Pune innings

6 W . . . . . . .1

and this is the 16/17th over

Any body who looks at this for first tine would say that this might be the middle overs and Pune are already 8 or 9 down.

GL tailenders were more aggressive when the required rate was 30+ yesterday. Dhoni had other plans.
