Will Kohli Finally Win Something In the T20 Format

He has has plenty of ODI success. Under 19 WC....WC 2011,....Champions Trophy... basically anything thats there to be won, he has won. In all the wins, he has not been a standout player... WC 2011 was more about Sachin leading the run charts with Shikar being the leader in the champions trophy. Even in 2008 Under 19s Tanmay Srivasta was the leading run scorer for India...Kohli contributed...

In contrast Kohli has been godlike in the T20 format from carrying India to the final in 2014 and being sublime in carrying India to the Semis in 2016. Even for RCB he has been god like this season

But he has yet to win anything of note in the format.....

As a captain of India and mostly leading of future T20 teams, i for one hope he breaks the jinx and makes an impact with trophies.

What Kohli's performances do is give relatively poor teams a chance. Eventually, the team loses and it appears as if Kohli is not destined for this or that .... When Team Ind gets stronger esp due to correct team selection, we will see Kohli's performances being translated in to tournament wins

RCB was not a poor team by any stretch of imagination. You alright?

improve reading comprehension skills   .... I have used the term relatively and you have mentioned SRH is a more balanced side so you need more explanations :dontknow:

No My comprehension skills are just fine. SRH was a underdog coming into the finals. No expert gave them a chance against mighty RCB batting line up at their home ground. Yet SRH came triumphs cuz they played as a team.

Some players are destined to be greats and some are destined to win trophies but not be that great at the same time. While both can be achieved, it needs destiny and everything going perfect.

It is Kohli that madr RCB'S batting formidable through his consistency. Remove Kohli and it could have struggled to make it to the playoffs

While you said that SRH played as a team relatively so what are you going on about

And SRH batting was more dependent on Warner than RCB on Kohli..make no mistake about it. But it just so happened that they contributed as a team with Warner leading from the front with the bat and middle order chipping in.

Abdv, Gayle, Kohli, Watson all big match winners....

srh had had less firepower. RCB was the favourite to win the final and SRH was underdog..

Remove Kohli's performances (and ABDV's to an extent) and RCB could have struggled to reach playoffs despite the match winners you listed  .... Check "Bradman would be proud" thread to get info on his impact

In spite of such performances, RCB struggled in many of the games reflects on its relative poor quality

By constantly focusing on batting, you are also overlooking other aspects of the cricket. While SRH had Warner for batting, teams such as RCB lacked a Warner for their bowling which is a firepower too .... Don't forget that RCB lost many games despite its batting clicking because of its poor bowling attack (check the thread - things that roll their arm over)

It is the form of players such as Kohli that made RCB go this far .... and therefore the point that Kohli actually can make relatively poor teams to get this far

So rather than thinking that Kohli is jinxed, we can appreciate the fact that based on his consistent performances, he is able to give such teams a chance

Strong teams have the ability to be dangerous with both the bat and the ball. If RCB'S bowling improves, it can be considered a well balanced strong team
