He is like the Rajdhani express of emotions on the field. It hardly matters.....everyone has his own style of functioning and people do well when they know what motivates them. Our 2 best captains ever, Ganguly in tests and Dhoni in LOIs , have had contrasting ways of expressing themselves on the field...yet both succeeded. Same thing applies for Ponting and Waugh. BeautifulGame
We aren't missing Dhoni the captain but Dhoni the batsman so far .He was as good as a top order batsman in Indian conditions.S aha has been a big disappointment as WK bat so far. It's even more compounded by having Rohit at six . Link to comment

He batted well in the Lanka tour too....with 2 half centuries. His improvement as a batsman is there for all to see. abc 1 Link to comment

This thread was about our performance at home and I mentioned Saha performance in that regard .He was pretty disappointing with the bat against SA and has already been demoted to no.8 in this series .Dhoni you could consider as a genuine top order bat in Indian conditions . Yes his overseas performance been pretty decent (albeit weaker attacks) but at home particularly with his performance for Bengal in Ranji has been massive disappointment. Also not sure how the team trusts him with bat either .Demoting him to no.8 already . Rasgulla 1 Link to comment

There has been no demotion from the WI series....there, we were playing 5 batsmen and here we are playing 6 batters. Rohit has come in and everyone else is batting one position below as a result. The last series against SA was an extremely low scoring one... only one century in the entire series from us at home and very few fifties even from our top batters. tweaker 1 Link to comment
Lannister
Let Saha play his fair share of matches before passing off judgement immaturely. In WI he was outstanding, he and Ashwin were the reason we were able to win the series. He is very athletic too when it comes to keeping, unlike "you-know-who" who could hardly able to dive to take catches. tweaker and express bowling 2 Link to comment

Do you think Dhoni would be batting at no.8 if he was playing? If not , not sure what u are debating about tbh.As it clearly shows we are missing Dhoni the batsmen. He gave the test team the all rounder edge in home conditions that Saha so far cant. BeautifulGame
Dhoni would have batted at 7 if not 8. He damn well would have batted at 6 and Rohit wouldn't be playing giving as more balance in the attack. Leaving that aside that is my point even at 7 that would give as far better strength he was good as.most top.order bat in Indian conditions and we are missing that . I am debating because you said that Saha has been a disappointing WK batsman so far....which is factually incorrect in the last 3 test series. Dhoni has retired....he is not available for selection in test matches. The only issue here is that whether Saha is the best choice among available keepers now. Every legendary player leaves a hole when he retires and some time needs to be given for the new guy to settle into his role. tweaker, Laaloo, New guy and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Gambit
Dhoni lovers would rather have India lose to try and glorify his mediocre test record. Unfortunately for them, NZ collapsed. Laaloo, Rasgulla, Mosher and 6 others 7 2 Link to comment

Same people said a lot of crap before when someone else is in his place. Cruel LOL facts are hurting some people i guess.. Perfect thread. Yes because for people with low IQ a veteran captain for nearly 10 years is the same as someone captaining in his first couple of test series. Just like every new batsman in the team immediately needs to be compared to Sachin, Sehwag, Dravid, Laxman, etc As soon as a new guy joins a company after college, his performance is compared to the veteran who has worked for 15 years Edited September 24, 2016 by New guy express bowling and philcric 2 Link to comment
