fineleg
Did anyone watch? Is Mehedi's action clean? If so, dream start, I think great fantastic potential. But I did not watch, so wanted to get ICF view if action is clean. Link to comment
Bigg Brother
Yes, his action is clean..Right arm orthodox spinner..Not a mystrey spinner. He can bat also but didnt do well with bat..Bangladesh have found right handed Shakib.. tweaker 1 Link to comment
fineleg
Oh wow, so he is a classical orthodox offspinner? That's awesome for those guys. tweaker 1 Link to comment
renjith
Didnt see the match. How good is he? Can he trouble top class test batsmen or is it English batsmen making a mess in this test? Link to comment
NameGoesHere
1. His action is clean 2. It was a pitch that spun from day 1, where spinners opened the bowling from both ends for (IIRC) both teams . So whether he's any good or not, whether it was beginner's luck or a rare purple patch or both, or whether he is a real find remains to be seen. For the moment he's an exciting prospect, no more but no less. Edited October 30, 2016 by NameGoesHere Link to comment
cric_fan
Already questioning his action I see...no surprise Forever Indian and Vilander 2 Link to comment
kosingh
His action is fine. His bowling kind of reminds me of Ashish Kapoor. Not so much the action, but the way the ball behaves once it comes out of his hand. Link to comment
jf1gp_1
See BD will start maturing and in 4-5 yrs they will start winning more an more test at home. I for one am all for home advantage so good for BD for winning the test. What i am more interested in is how their players and fans handle this win. I just hope they dont go overboard and start their usual cocky nonsense. These are the same guys who were run close by afghans a few months back. TheWall 1 Link to comment
Asim
he is non-indian so obviously his action is doubtful... Vilander and sandeep 2 Link to comment
moniker
Good to see a Bangla bowler who is not a slow left armer doing well. I'm sick of seeing the army of slow left arm bowlers they have produced so far. Link to comment

Now a days the first question that comes to mind when a new spin bowler comes to prominence is whether his action is clean or not. Link to comment
Bigg Brother
OP just asked about action as he hasnt watched match..There is history of chuckers in Bangladesh and Pakistan,so the doubt.. Nothing to burn about in that..I cant believe you guys watch cricket so passionately, follow it very closely and still believe in those things.(BCCI=ICC) cric_fan 1 Link to comment
mishra
I watched him in action. He is one of those full sleeve bowler. Infact, Bongs have taken it to next level. I.e its loose full sleeve 4 hours ago, Asim said: he is non-indian so obviously his action is doubtful... Ajmal and Junaid. Both chucked. Get over it now. Link to comment

They already have their best top 7 ever assembled in test cricket. Tamim Imrul Kayes Monimul Haque Mahmudullah Shakib Mushfiqur Shabbir Rahman Mehedi Hasan Tajiul Fizz One more quick (maybe Takshin) That is one solid team for the subcontinent. Depth in batting till #8, 4 spinners with variety (off spin, left arm spin, leg spin) and two quick bowlers. They are looking better, but still a bit to go. Disappointed wit Mahmudullah a bit, hope he doesn't turn into their Rohit Sharma. He looks the part when batting, and expected him and Sarkar to lead the bangles with the bat. Sarkar has slumped and is riding the bench everywhere, and Mahmudullah seems to be throwing his wicket away. Link to comment

He looks to be a classical off-spinner (drift, little bit of air and good zip off the surface) Whats working for him are those subtle changes is he doing every ball..... Pitches are little too spinning friendly and assisted him big time.... On a standard sub-continent pitches, he may not be this successful.... "It's not England's lack of batting ability but its the pitch and bowlers skill" which got him wickets tweaker 1 Link to comment

LOL, you come in the lion's den and expecting to walk out harmless? But i'll give it to you bud, Ashwin's bowling always looked dodgy to me :P ... there I said it. Happy Speaking of this kid, his bowling looks like a normal spinner but for a 19 years old kid to take 19 wickets in 2 matches is no joke. Only way is up for this kid since time is on his side. tweaker 1 Link to comment
Vilander
Bowlers in general and spin bowlers in particular should be required to wear half sleeves while bowling or tights. beetle and mishra 2 Link to comment
Shamim.Miah
His the real deal for Bangladesh. Ear marked as the future Bangladesh captain. Both Mehedi and Mustafiz combination will be deadly. His young and can have bad days, all about learning now. His very intelligent also. Link to comment
