No, I am not Pintu Parcha.

Dhoni when he started off did not look less primitive and has ended as unarguably the top 5 ODI batsman of all times.

Such " dehati " talent must be encouraged. Giving him a look in would inspire thousands of such talented hitters in the low strata of society.

We just have too many people...and too much talent of which a very small fraction comes to the surface...

You are the cameraman, oh sorry, potatoman right?

Well..they all need to be tried and tested against international talent to see who has it in to go all the way..

It is better to try these guys ..than a sifarishi like Arjun Tendulkar who would struggle to break into age group domestic side if not for the name of his daddy.

why would you berate a 17 year old and call him sifarishi. Not everyone can be Tendulkar at 17.  He has not even been picked in any U19 squad that played Challenger trophy.

Nothing against Arjun Tendulkar or even Sachin. Problem is the shameless act of the selectors who selected him at U-16  for their own vested interests rather than genuine merit.

Anyway..lets not derail the OP. This is about the talent in the lowest strata of India's society.

People have such elitist mentality...I am pretty sure everyone making fun of pintu on this forum would not be able to lay bat to the bowling of that guy in the video....be a little subjective guys....the kid does have great hand eye coordination and power in his strokes

the only thing is I see in these videos though are wild swings to the leg side of full toss bowling or half volleys...need to see more straight hitting ability or off side hitting to judge.

Pretty crass replies. No one started off playing in a Ranji match. Although, what's with that stance, man!?

Yeah..a slogger's stance. Would be interesting to see how he would play against 135k + bowlers, bowling yorkers !

But he has serious hitting talent for sure..The 1st video showed a couple of Dhoni like helicopter shots.

U knw the diff btw the bowlers and name i mentioned above is pace real pace........and they are bloody accurate.

Does not matter..but whats with this elitist attitude ?

Few had any serious hopes from  Sehwag in international cricket..in the late 90's when he was eligible.

He was a no.7 for Delhi who used to tonk the ball against medium pacers and spinners.

He turned out to be the most devastating opener in the history of test cricket.

Who would have thought a primitive technique guy like Dhoni to be such a legend ?

Both sehwag and dhoni are aberrations to how selection usually happens for India

It is an idiotic elitist attitude in selection because of which India for all its resources, talent and now new money has been the biggest underachiever.

We have TONS and TONS of eager talent in the country outside the " BCCI system " that needs to be tapped into.

We are 50 times the population of Sri Lanka, with similar weather and pitches, why on bloody earth don't we have 10 teams at the very minimum to hammer them ? If we were even as efficient as Sri Lanka in utilizing our immense resources, we would have 10 Dhonis and Sehwags at their best waiting to enter the team.

Was hearing one of Jaywant Lele's interviews on youtube about how many times Yashpal Sharma had to beg the chief selector to give Sehwag a chance.

It is our selection system and policies due to which 90 % of India's cream talent in the hinterlands is not even looked at.
