gattaca
We played well to win this match. Lot of issues to be ironed out. Looks like we are still dropping catches and expecting opposition to provide second chances. Our batting still needs improvement. Clarke's 300 , Mccullum 300 and we haven't learned that mistake of dropping catches. To go the next level we need to improve our batting and catching surprisingly our bowling is doing ok. Catching overall, and keeping (catches, missed stumpings) is the huge issue and out of form of M. Vijay and Rahane (2 of top 5 batsmen are totally off color). We have won despite that - THANKS TO OUR BOWLERS who are taking 26/27 wickets per match to compensate for the missed catches/stumpings (and lack of DRS review quotas at times). Their lower order batting too immensely helpful. But FIELDING and top order batting issues needs to be fixed ASAP. (And yes some of the missed catches are by bowlers themselves like Ashwin and Jadeja) Edited November 29, 2016 by fineleg Link to comment
Forever Indian
Yeah, our spinners are covering our back with regards to drop catches and out of form players. Scoring runs instead of out of form players and picking additional wickets for missed catches. Overseas the catches especially will hurt us big time. We lost in NZ tour 1st test after McCullum was dropped twice and he went on to score daddy double hundred. We also dropped Cook and another batsman in 3rd test at Southampton (?) when we were leading 1-0 and everything went downhill from there. Link to comment

Ofcourse we are savouring the win in other threads. But in home series it is almost expected that we will win. I predicted even a 4-0 win before the series started and we are on course for it. It will be sweeter when we start winning overseas. The Lords test win has been my sweetest memory in the last 5 years. Link to comment
G_B_
I think to be fair England is the only side who can push India hard. If we are winning comfortably v England I feel maybe these issues are not as bad. Link to comment

Vijy
Batting has been rather inconsistent this series in the top order. Link to comment
