BeautifulGame
These are Ashwin stats excluding Zimbabwe and Bangladesh 124 wickets in 93 matches with ave of 33.08 and Eco of 4.93.Not even a single 4 fer in career so far let alone 5-fer Ashwin is a great test match bowler and a match winner .But does he really deserve a place in the ODI team? He is nowhere as good in ODIs as he is in tests. We would be betgter of giving Mishra a chance and more importantly fastracking in Kuldeep Yadav. sourab10forever
Ash and jaddu are the best middle over bowling pair . Dhoni played around them so much. Hope Kohli learns that too. Link to comment
Malcolm Merlyn
Yes lets have MishraJee back........Not... OP is our own Sanjay Manjrekar. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Last odi ashwin played was jan 2016 . Bowls 5 overs and op reacts with immediate effect and wants our greates all rounder since kapil Dev dumped lol a tiny bit of patience would be nice maniac, MCcricket and AuxiliA 3 Link to comment
BeautifulGame
Yes lets have MishraJee back........Not... OP is our own Sanjay Manjrekar. Even Mishra has a match winning performance against Newzealand. What exactly do we lose by not playing Ashwin? Hardly controls or takes wickets in the middle overs, never comes up with match winning spells, not even a single 4 fer against any decent opposition .At least Mishra is decent wicket taker and definitely better option. Ashwin is innocous as an ODI bowler and Mishra is most likely going to be useless away from spinning pitches . And both are liabilities on the field . But what we actually need is a spinner liek Kuldeep who is hard to pick in odis .These type of bowlers are generally far more successful in ODI because harder to attack . Link to comment

Cricketics
When attacking, Mishra is the best spinner in the country with Kuldeep having potential to better him. Especially on these small Indian grounds, Mishra is handy with his variations. IPL proves it how good Mishra is in LOI cricket. Should have played Mishra. I am glad he is in the squad and will walk into the team easily next game. Link to comment

In Australia, Ashwin can work, but in places like England and India, Mishra and Kuldeep and Jadeja are much better choice in LOI. sandeep 1 Link to comment
express bowling
Kuldeep Yadav needs to be given a few games and alternated with Ashwin. Ashwin is our most valuable player in test matches in Asia and his workload needs to be managed. MCcricket 1 Link to comment

kosingh
Well this Kedar Jadhav fellow isn't exactly stellar. Link to comment
renjith
Soon kohli will have to make a decision reg Ashwin in ODIs. One of our main problem is the inability to get wickets in middle overs and the reason being both Ashwin and jaddu being defensive bowlers. We defenitely need spinners who can get wickets in middle overs and not just bowl defensive. MCcricket 1 Link to comment
GautiMaan
Legspinner who can tonk the ball also will be ideal Link to comment
sandeep
Well, VK is considered an "aggressive" captain, but his bowling changes, and his bowler selection did not reflect that today. Bowlers really let him down to with Stokes at the crease, so not entirely his fault. But I have to say, I expected a bit more from VK in the 1st half of the innings. Ash and Bumrah both had bad days at the office. Let's see how they bounce back in the other 2 ODIs. My biggest concern is, I don't want to see any turning pitches in the next 2 games. More flat tracks like these, so we can have a proper batting shoot-out. And good preparation for Champions trophy and beyond. Link to comment
