King Tendulkar
So yuvraj walks out to bat . I turn to my dad and start hammering his selection . 2 balls before unluckily out I turn to my dad and say bloody hell yuvraj has looked magnificent today . mirage or signs of something more substantial ? i am actually excited to see him bat next match to see how he does Link to comment
G_B_
Agree.. The shots he played looked good. However I dont think he is suited to traditional Indian decks ATM. The pune pitch was more what u find in Aus nowadays Sent from my Wileyfox Swift using Tapatalk CurtisKem 1 Link to comment
Vilander
if you get the full yuviraj back this team would be truely strong after Rohit/Shami come back. Cricketics 1 Link to comment
Brainfade
Unlucky why? He tickled the ball tentatively and was caught behind. Luck had nothing to do with it. The commentators kept saying he was unlucky and i was just scratching my head. New guy, Bleed-Blue, tweaker and 3 others 6 Link to comment
Cricketics
If you watched the warm up and his Ranji double hundred from last year, he has been like this for a while. Before twenty20 world cup, looked all right too but just that many did not get too see him much on such pitches and in longer format like a fifty over. Fifty overs allow him to take his time and is more suited for him than even twenty20. If he can hang in with Kohli few more knocks, he can return very close to his best permanently for few more years at least. Kohli has set this high bar where he and in coming batsman knows that he can't be playing bullshyt stuff like play 3 dot bals and hit one four. Kohli likes to take singles and hit fours occasionally and that keeps the fielders tired and score board ticking. Fortunately, many in the team are learning, and those who aren't will be out soon. sandeep 1 Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
Yuvraj's 36 year old and is done. Flashes here and there or a quickfire 15 or 20 runs doesn't change the facts. Get Pant or Manish Pandey in his stead. Texan, nevada, BeautifulGame and 5 others 8 Link to comment
rahulrulezz
Ok let's bring up the white elephant in the room. I personally can't forgive his t20 innings from 2014 wcup final. The guy has been constantly flop in ipl season after season for last 7 years. Yuvi is our legend but it's time we move on. New guy, Ultimate_Game, SecondSlip and 1 other 4 Link to comment
ravishingravi
You have to wonder at the wisdom of selectors to get the 35 year old back. New guy 1 Link to comment
rkt.india
This is called SRT symptoms, will look good here and there but largely struggle against good bowling. The dismissal wasn't unlucky but was more like of expecting bouncer. Raina too has gotten out like that. New guy and tweaker 2 Link to comment

Yes people gets out like that but in case of Yuvraj and Raina anticipation of bouncer leads to too much jumping and back and across movement. Kohli also gets out like that a lot and that happens because of his weakness outside off, so, he goes too much across and loses his balance and can't get enough bat behind the ball and gets a tickle. Some good shots, brief inning, will look good and several people including me thought he can still play but those runs were not enough, just a glimpse of a great player he was.
