Everyone wants the team to win but some put themselves first and then the team

And I don't think bhajji did that. He did not put himself ahead of the team. He just backed himself to do the job better. A move, I don't agree with either. Doesn't mean he put himself ahead of the team.

Ya that was a bad over. But he will learn from it. Lack of exprience showed but bowling to quality bats helps and this will help. He will monitor and figure how he has to change his line and bowl some variations in LOI's. That's the beauty of a faillure.

zone does not matter. It was quick and he mistimed it. Short quick ball is always a better option against Yuvraj. Gave just 2 runs in last 3 balls,4th ball was quick short delivery at 90 mph that also Yuvraj mistimed.

Let's agree to disagree. Yuvraj mistimes a lot of even slower short balls as well after his return from cancer.Let's stop making excuses for Aniket. He bowled completely bad over and it happens.Doesn't make him a poor bowler all of a sudden.

No. Dont be thick. First 3 balls were not good as he tried yorkers but ended up as half volleys, last 3 were good which he kept quick and short resulted in just 2 runs. Needed to bowl according to batsman's strength and last 3 were good in that aspect. Otherwise, Yuvraj can hit anything if he gets his timing except a good yorker.

yorkers are always risky to yuvraj that too he was angling into his pads, you have to nail them

yes, should have bowled from round the wicket. Always tougher to hit from angling towards outside off.

Yes.... wide of off yorkers are better if yorkers are tried against Yuvi

for yuvraj it was a relaxed situation for aniket it wasnt ,i just felt he would be hit but he came back with hostility

Yeah he bowled well in last IPL. But he should be kept away from internationals. Bit like Ambati Rayudu of bowling.

Dinda was the only fast bowler who troubled England batsmen in warmup one day game. Got wickets caught behind on a flat deck.

Really impressed with Ankit Rajpoot. He might not be hitting 140+ but he got extra bounce from short of a good length and was hitting the bat hard and then bowled some really good yorkers at the death too. He should be the next in line to debut for LOIs.

Honestly I have no problem with giving him a chance again but I fear it would be same story like before at internationals. Also he is much old now. We definitely can invest in better alternatives anyway.

I'd admit I have only seen these bowlers in little snippets but there's very little to tell between Warrier and Rajpoot in terms of their ability. Their domestic records bear witness to that. Shame that Vinay and that embarrassing Srinath Aravind had to block what should have been his place.

Yes. Warrier should have played. Pathetic to see likes of Aravind. Hopefully, next game he will be playing. Only difference between Rajpoot and Warrier is Rajpoot is a bit taller but his round arm action negates the height advantage and on paper, Rajpoot is younger at 23, Warrier 25. Both bowl similar pace.

makes one wonder what is it that Vinay and Aravind do to deserve these chances, they are clearly not in international contention or are they they one wonders.

Was the pitch doing a lot when Dhawan and Gamhir were batting?  They didn't accelerate after the starts with less than 100 sr whereas the rest were smashing at 150+

Dhawan 37 off 39

Gamhir 20 off 20

no ,pitch had nothing ,just good bowling upfront by the pacers which got them stuck

Unfortunately the way it works in tournaments like these, you pick the best players from Ranji and other LOI's and Vinay Kumar's batting and bowling combined gets him the slot in these tournaments. Forget the slot, he is infact given the captaincy here since he is considered one of the best in the league by the selectors.

Similarly Bhajji is the captain to. Both pretty old now yet given captaincy.

Vinay sucks in our eyes but when having these games, he will keep getting picked because he performs against our domestic prospects who keep giving wickets away to him. He will always get picked on these basis as he is also wcoring runs like he did last night.

I am fine as long as they are not picking him in the 4 day India A matches.

What is disappointing is that Siraj had to be left out.

Also a lot of shots of Aniket were possible boundary shots from Dhawan and Gambhir in first 4 overs but they were stopped well by the fielders on point and covers. This was one of the difference in the game. Fielding from East Zone looked fantastic and later there was a fantastic catch taken even to dismiss Gambhir. Naman Ojha looked like a good captain pumping his bowlers up and fielders when they let one single go of easily.

East zone won today on their fielding.
