List of talented, young fast bowlers with pace in India

I find this very strange

Nathu did well in the last Deodhar Trophy,  had an excellent SMA Trophy in 2016 and did very well in List A too.

Someone with his pace and skills should be an automatic choice in A teams, especially for the one day matches and even for the longer games.na

nathu was found by older selection committee. This new one has repeatedly overlooked him.

Oh Express ji

You are so good depth of expertise , how did you miss out Ankit rajpoot .

I think he is a potential Test bowler .

Was it an oversight that you missed him?

We were discussing players who are on the verge of international team selection or should be so.

Ankit Rajpoot is a good bowler but don't see him breaking into the test team within the next year.

First, he will have to play for the A team.

OK.  Good .  If  given chances in overseas A tours , should be a contender in a year or so , but may not find a place in 11 .

  • Rajpoot looks ready to me for LOI
  • Thampi and Rahul shukla in t20. (has nyone seen Thampi bowl long spells)
  • In test- I would like to try-  Nathu and Aniket.c
  • Sanghwan another bowler i would like to try in ODI
  • Avesh khan is one sought of bowler i would love to fast track in test cricket. His line n length and bounce will get him lot of wkts on bouncy pitches.

Ohhh good thanks emoji2.png but I haven't seen him bat if he can bat well maintaining that pace then good but should never be selected for bowling alone

I saw sanghwan on TV recently..I guess that pink ball match...he did try but not international material.

Bran seems to vary his pace from 109k to 144k  n is better

Yes Sran...is intelligent.

He is left arm ..varies pace ,has bounce and pace variation.

When ever he has played he has got wickets.

Best fast bowler in our country right now is Shami.Umesh,Ishant,BK,Bumrah are other leading seam

bowlers right now.Seam bowling allrounder Hardik is also sharp, can bowl 140+ when he wants to.But

besides them there are some other talented fast bowlers in the country right now.

1)Varun Aaron (Fast) (Fastest Indian bowler with intl. exp)

2)Shardul Thakur (Fast med) (skillfull,137-142k at his best)

3)Nathu Singh (pacy,skiddy,he's 140-145ks at his peak)

4)Ankit Rajpoot (tall,quick bowler.Very promising,his fastest till now is 147-148ks till now)

5)Rahul Shukla (Strong, hit the deck bowler, can bowl upto high 140s)

6)Mohd Siraj (Tall,sharp..looked faster than what he clocked, very good FC performance in this season)

7)Aniket Chowdhury (Tall, only decent left ar seamer right now, selected in the India A squad)

8)Basil Thampi (Pacy,clocking 140-145ks in domestic speedguns,looks a complete LOI bowler,only 23)

9)Sandeep Warrier (Skiddy, bowling 137-140ks in domestic speedguns, looks pretty sharp,as done well for Kerala)

10)Pradeep Sangwan (Has improved his pace, decent left arm seamer, can also bat)

Pawan Suyal was very impressive but has faded away with injuries.Avesh Khan,Navdeep Saini,Ravi Kiran,

Chama Milind and Sran are also in contention but they will not be in my list of 10 for now.Any other bowlers young

bowler with pace, potential I've missed?I've not considered mediocre Sid Kaul or any other tried and tested failures.

Only bowlers with feasible chance of representing the nation have been considered.

Rahul shukla and suyal are not playing for even any IPL team now...

I don't think he is in reckoning or even being considered.

Avesh khan also seems gone.

Varun seems unfit most of the time.

I wanna him to be back but he hardly plays.

I guess others are being considered.

Varun is useless. 300 is being scored frequently now. Have Varun in lineup and opponents would score 400. Would never want to see Varun and umesh in ODI. Like a non specialist bowler they are unable to control where they pitch the ball and end up leaking runs like part timers.

Organizing regular camps for fast bowlers is very important in our country too.... where all quicks with international potential should be groomed specially and fast tracked if good or when ready.

I don't know why this is not happening and half the picks in our A teams are trundlers and no new genuine quicks are getting anywhere near  the Indian team.

Aniket Choudhary  performs against Bangladesh and picks up 4 wickets for only 26 runs

As Mosher quoted an article in another thread, he picked up some wickets using pace and bounce.

As he is a tall left-armer with pace, bounce and movement..... he deserves a place in the test squad as he would add variety to our attack

who? Tom  Helm?

He was part of Pace Program and fast tracked into the lions squad.

Issue is Middlesex have a strong bowling lineup and he found it difficult to get into team.Steven Finn is a great bowler to have at other end in CC. Add to it the ankle injury which meant he missed almost one season. Has a five fer versus Yorkshire who are a wonderful CC Division 1 team.

Would we ever fast track someone like this ? Or do we desire 5 years of trundling in ranji accumulating meaningless stats before being picked

Shami

Umesh

Ishant

BK

Aniket

These should be our test bowlers at present.

I would replace bk with ankit rajput. He is the best uncapped quickie imo.

He is the only  faster pacer, around for some time,  who I have never seen bowl with speed guns in operation.

What were his speeds the last time you saw him with speed guns  ?

Express ji I had seen ankit rajput bowling in IPL for KKR he was quick 140+ with fastest of 147kph

Old starsports.com. It changed to hotstar but the video is not there now.

The video you are talking about was probably 4 years back. He has improved a lot since then and has gotten quicker. Everything in his bowling has improved a lot. He was no way an India material at that time, but as he was tall and left armer, he caught the eyes of Greg Chappel was the Rajasthan academic coach at that time and picked him for Rajasthan team. I believe he was a late starter.

I saw that video too at that time, 4 years back, that you are talking about, saw him bowl live, was bowling 127-135K and I was not really impressed at all and then I saw him bowl against Karnataka in a 2015 Ranjji trophy game and I was like wow, what transformation, for his bowling.

Faster than Sran.

I have not seen aniket bowl but have seen Sran..in all his international matches.

TO beat SRAN is difficult as I found Sran was a left arm pacer with BRAINS.

Bran had Brains.

he had crazy variations of Pace and Genuine Swing , pace and Bounce.

bowled from 105k to 144k and many balls between 140 to 144k..

only negative point about SRAN was that he used to be a 128 to 137k bowler with the old ball and some said that he lacked stamina.

I know this he seems exceptional and that's why he was fast tracked to international cricket and he was a tremendous success too in which ever match he played in the 11.

As far as I remember, Sran did not go past 141 k   in the international matches he played and mostly bowled 135 k to 139 k even in his first spells.

Here are some speeds I found  in the Speed and Performance Thread in early 2016

"    Sran - First ODI

132 k to 139 k in his first spell.

128 k to 136 k in his later spells.

Speed ranges in the 2nd  ODI vs Australia

Umesh     138 k to 145 k

Ishant      132 k to 142 k

Sran        128 k to 138 k

3rd  ODI

Sran has disappointed me in the way he has bowled today in his first spell today.

Just placed the ball gently at 128 k to 135 k.

Quite a few wide deliveries too.

Got hit for 25 off 3 overs as a result @ 8.33 runs per over.  "

He did not touch 140 k on the Zimbabwe tour either

Yes it was an old video. If he is much quicker (140+) now, then he can trouble many batsmen coz of the height and left armers angle.
