Rite now i think rather giving good player to other team we shud give them chance in main team. There is no need to give the best players to the A team. If this system were to be made to work...then the India Main team should choose the same players it is doing now ( best 16 players ) and not dilute the team. The Second Team would be the India A Team consisting of the next best set of players ( next best 16 players ) Link to comment

Lannister
Yup, India A vs B is more interesting to watch than say playing against minnows. We should cut off all the useless bi-laterals and look for arranging more tourneys consisting the best players in our country. Link to comment
BeautifulGame
We have multiple contestants representing the same country in same event in the Olympics, Asian games etc. We have multiple doubles teams from the same country in tennis and badminton in the Olympics etc. This would be something similar They are individual sports. How many different teams from same country participate in team sports in Olympics Link to comment

Also, conceptually, from a supporters' point of view, there is not much difference between individual sports and team sports, when they are representing their country and a situation may arise when 2 players from the same country may compete with each other. kosingh
Like when Australia had its main team and also it's "Australia A" team to participate in that annual multinational tournament they used to host every December/Jan. Couple of times the final came down to Aus Vs Aus A ahead of other international teams in the tournament. Took the fun out of the tournament. Link to comment
putrevus
Let one united India team win one odi series in SA and have decent bowlers who can be force .They never won bilateral odi series in Australia either.Unlike Aussies whose A teams were better than almost every team Indian team has so many holes in its main team itself . In most sports it is not required because there are lots of good quality teams. Cricket is rather unique in the way that it is an incredibly popular sport among a significant percentage of world population and yet, it is played by only 8 or 9 strong teams. Don't write it off so easily as it might be commercially lucrative to the administrative bodies if games involving India increase. sarchasm 1 Link to comment

chewy
They should let the A teams compete in associate competitions and the associate first class competitions and World Cup qualifiers but there should be a rule where the A team can not qualify for the World Cup this is common in Spain, where Barcelona and Real Madrid field B teams in the lower divisions and get get promoted through the divisions but are barred from being promoted to the Primera Liga even if they win the 1st Division moniker and Sidhoni 2 Link to comment

The solution for it is developing strong domestic tournament, cricket isnt unique .There is precedence like AFL NFL Baseball Basketball . Link to comment

The population of USA is less than 20% of the Indian sub-continent. Also, why should solutions follow only one path ? People should be open to new ideas and decisions arrived at after experimentation and debates. sarchasm 1 Link to comment

maniac
Can Rohit be the jack and play in both teams? it is unfair that one team has the balance tilted so much in their favor. Link to comment
maniac
Another revolutionary idea they should assemble all the players like top 33 in the ground pre match and then the captains can start choosing players turn by turn like we used to do in gully cricket...the remaining 11 who have not been picked can play on the side pitch. Do it BCCI Edited February 6, 2017 by maniac Link to comment
