With that leap he has, he will need to be preserved since as he gets older, he will start to face knee pain very soon.  Need to pick and cjose the series we play him in.

not really. Brett Lee never had any knee problem. Most genuine fast bowlers have that hang time. Look at Mitchell Starc.

It is a precautionary thing. Shami doesn't have leap still has niggles. Every bowler these days end up having some kind of niggles. And with such actions with leap, chances are much higher as you are having a jump and literally stamping your feet on the ground.

Shami's runup was bad, putting too much pressure on the knees by long strides and had a far too big a stride at the crease for a short guy which put a lot of pressure on his front knee and had to undergo surgery, but he has improved this aspect now but once you have a knee surgery, there is always going to be an issue.

His sprain this time is on the other knee...the right one

I think it is the same knee which had operated upon. It was not a sprain but knee swelling.

On Sunday, the BCCI sent out a release saying he has "soreness in his right knee and has been advised rest and rehabilitation. He will be going to the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru to start his recovery programme."

That is why I said during India/Eng series to rotate him if we win the series by 4th test as he is injury prone. The guy is going to have these niggles all his career now, just needs to be used well in short burst. Also same with this guy Aniket.

Not everyone has an action like Lance Klucener who could bowl 150k with such an amazing easy looking action(best bowling action ever).

Mohammed Shami, who has been out of action since the World Cup, has revealed that he bowled through pain and injury during the tournament, and that the discomfort in his left knee began as early as during the first Test of India's tour of Australia.

I have read reports which say that his left knee has been fine since his comeback, no problems there now

The right knee, being the non-landing knee, will perhaps become better more quickly.  I also got the feeling that this time the team management was being more careful with Shami as he has become our prime pacer now.... he is doing decently after his rest.

If he is bowling 135 k to 140 k in domestics, he may bowl 140 k to 145 k in internationals

He will be 140+ in internationals. But Starc hits 147-152ks in rhythm.Lots of high 140 deliveries.

Probably the fastest bowler going around.Aniket is nowhere close nor any Indian bowler

barring a fit Aaron bowling at his fastest. Starc is a gem..no comparison.

Lol hope kumble n kohli are not as mindless practicing 135k trundler to face blitzkrieg 150k starc emoji16.png

Not 15k maybe around 7-8k diff in speed on avg.Starc doesn't bowl 150 consistently, that's his fastest.

He's around 145-146.Aniket will be around 136-137 on avg with 141-142 being fastest.Aniket is the best left

arm seamer in the country,so best option available. We can do 1 thing, force Starc to bowl at our guys

at nets else curtle him from IPL.:giggle:
