Dhoni as a Wicket Keeper's Contribution To DRS

Have to say Saha - Kohli combo is lethal when comes to DRS .

Ashwin and Jadeja as bowlers doesn't help but it's kinda understandable with bowlers.

May be they need to have a designated system where atleast 3-4 people agree with before going for a review .Maybe include Rahane at slip , Kohli, Saha , Pujara and the bowler before taking up the review.

Because currently we are wasting the reviews on absurd calls .Even them I am not sure about it with Rahane and Pujara looking meek and Kohli too emotional to overrule the bowlers. But have to be better at using DRS ,some of those calls were comical.

It will take a herculean effort to come close to Dhoni as a Wkt-batsman and captainlet alone match him.

Saha is a third rate keeper batsman and deserves no chance in team India.

Whos better than Saha as a keeper in India

These things are basics and should be natural to wicketkeeper.Praising a wicketkeeper for being a good judge to drs review is akin to praising a 25 year experienced professional for knowing core constituents of his profession. Saha is horrible and can be criticised.

I think that is in fact the problem right now. Too many voices. No reason Slip or a close in fielder needs to give his opinion on whether the ball was hitting the stumps unless keeper's vision was blocked. Saha must speak up and have the #1 opinion, even if he is wrong. Close in fielders can say whether or not there was bat involved in those LBW situations.

Right now Kohli is asking too many people, and everyone is responding with "Uhhh, I dunno. Maybe".

And then we have the added issue of not using our batting reviews well either. Non strikers too timid to tell the batter "that was plumb, mate. Off you go"

We won't know until we give them a try.

Nice cop out.Give me names

No one has looked as secure in FC or the ones we tried.

Who knows there are batsmen better than Kohli?Wont know until we try right

What's the cop out here lol

You want names ? Try Pant or Kishan .

The difference between Kohli and Saha is one is performing consistently and another isn't.

Based on what ? How many matches have we even seen in Ranji to say Pant keeping isn't good enough.

What exactly is the technical issues with Kishan. He has kept wickets regularly for a team that has reached Ranji final .Why exactly is keeping good enough.

On a square turner,Saha hardly made any mistakes.Plus that catch off Yadav

Sure batting is a concern, but would rather have a pure keeper first

No question was what technical issues u find in Pant and zkishan to say their keeping is not good enough.

Particularly considering Kishan has been keeping for Jarkhand for some time and no one has even seen Pant keep in Ranji. What exact technical issues do they have with their keeping honsely.Because this honestly looks like a generic throwaway line against every good batsmen wk who is attacking in nature.

No good team uses just pure wk that is a thing of the past.Your wicket keeper has to be very good wicket keeper .And it's not even like Saha doesn't drop catches .

If u just play a poor batsman wicket keeper then these kind of collapses continue to happen.Virtually every good test has a good wk bat .If u don't one it's imperative to try to find out one.Not be happy wicket keeper who is not a good enough batsman.Because we will be even more horribly exposed to collapses when we go overseas.

Keeper means many things. He should be a good keeper, help with strategy like DRS and Field Settings,Motivator from behind the stumps and a competent batsman.

Saha fulfills only one of those cricteria.

Helping with strategy is the domain of an experienced keeper who has fair amount of international matches exposure. Who do you think fits better if not Saha?

Bhai its simple. They are very young. If they were any good as keepers,it would have been reported by now just like their batting has been

Saha OTOH has been rated as even best keeper in the world currently.I can link you to the articles

Its not like hes totally useless as a batsman anyway.Scored a ton v BD and a fantastic rearguard one in WI.

Pant and Kishan can be tried in ODIs sure. But in Tests you need a keeper first.

I don't see any other team compromising on keeping either. All the keepers playing would have played even if batting was ignored,
