Is Saha good enough as a keeper to be in XI despite very poor batting?

Title says it all.

It's not just low scores, the way he bats he looks no better than some bit and pieces type of batsman. Basically 4 out of 10.

How good is he as keeper? Haven't seen him keep recently. Is he like 9 out of 10 or 8 out 10 as keeper. If he is brilliant keeper then he certainly deserves to be in playing XI otherwise he should go.

We missed a chance of trying Pant, Kuldeep and Aniket in the test against Bangladesh.

As it stands now, Saha's above-average keeping,   lack of knowledge about keeping skills of Pant, Kishan etc. and poor keeping of Parthiv.... are not leaving us with any realistic options for another keeper in the current series.

If  Nair plays at No.6 then Saha is obviously the best option.

I would actually say Saha keeping is top class . Glove work wise maybe best test match keeper in world at moment

the catch of yadav last game and this stumping today . Really not sure any other keeepr in india would have got both

his batting is below average but not as bad as think . Until others show their glove work is good he may keep his place

Days of a specialist wkt keeper whose runs are considered bonus are long gone. Like it or not to be competitive you need a wkt keeper batsman who is multi-dimensional who contributes both with the bat and gloves. Maybe you can carry a wkt keeper occasionally if you are blessed with good all-rounders and a deep batting lineup but we don't have that luxury. We have to move on to a younger option who fits in with how the game is played in modern times.
