BCCI stands behind Kohli

Recommended Posts

For all the supposed clout of BCCI I've never seen an English or Aussie cricketer penalised or punished in a serious manner. Likes of Mike Dennes and company to suspend and punish half the Indian team for "over appealing" that too guys playing their debut match (Sehwag in that case) but have yet to see Anderson, Smith, Slater, Healey etc. punished for blatant cheating, poor behavior and literally assaulting an opposing player.

Typical victim mentality.

Calling it as I see it.

So you're ok with VK accusing a touring captain of cheating via the media? That **** isn't on mate, especially considering there's no evidence what so ever to back up his claims, play hard on the field, let your concerns known to the authorities if you have any and let them deal with them.

Well Kohli does have video evidence to back up his claim. Handscomb is on record telling Smith to have a look at the dressing room and Smith did look at the dressing room for help with respect to DRS referral. If this isn't evidence what is? Kohli also added he had spoken to the umpires couple of times about it and that's why umpires were on top of it when the incident happened. In a close game which was on knife's edge most of the Test, gaining unfair advantage with DRS reviews is a huge factor and in fact can be a game changer. Kohli definitely has every right to be p***ed off about it and call out Smith for the same.

Edit: On another note do you seriously believe that Aussies were all that better at taking DRS reviews in the 1st Test without any external help from dressing room? I've my doubts based on what I saw in the 2nd Test.

Play hard, cheat hard and leave it all on the field. Yeh we get it.

BCCI has filed a complaint against Smith and Handscomb. Is this a good move from BCCI? Just hope the Indian players don't lose the focus on the upcoming test match over this.

The BCCI has filed an official complaint with the ICC against Australia captain Steven Smith and batsman Peter Handscomb in relation to the DRS controversy in the Bengaluru Test. The charge brought against the two is a Level 2 charge, for acting against the spirit of cricket.

This comes a day after the ICC said no action would be taken against any of the players in the matter, and advised the teams to "focus their energies on the third Test in Ranchi next week".

The incident occured on the final day of the Test, when Smith looked towards the dressing room after having chatted with non-striker Handscomb when given out lbw in a tense chase, apparently for clues on whether to review the call or not. Umpire Nigel Llong intervened immediately, and sent Smith on his way. In his post-match conference, Smith put his actions down to a "brain fade". India captain Virat Kohi disagreed with that, saying Australia took help from their dressing room on at least three occasions before making their mind up on DRS reviews in the Test. Kohli said he had made the umpires aware of the matter on two occasions before the third one played out in full view.

How is it accusing when he and whole world saw what your captain did, there is no ambiguity there. I do not understand why is it so hard to accept that your captain cheated or at least tried to cheat and was caught.Like in the  case of shoplifting or any theft ,you do not have complete the process to be punished, attempt to commit the crime is enough.

The authority ( ICC and Match referee) once again proved to be incompetent fools so what can he do.

I wasn't talking about the Smith referral, VK said to the media that it happened on previous occasions, either he gets proof or he gets sanctioned, especially now the Indian board have made a complaint, India can't have it both ways.

Fine, they might get a small fine, but, expect the ACB to make a complaint regarding Kohli publicly accusing Australia of cheating on previous occasions without any proof what so ever, and if there was proof one of the 50 cameras at the ground would've picked it up, if India want to go down this path, they might not like what they get, bringing the game into disrepute is a very serious charge, and not worthy of just a fine, you'd think the captain of such a might cricketing nation would think before he spoke.

This has all come about because Kohli doesn't have a clue when it comes to DRS, and he's trying to take the heat off himself because Smith (once mind you) looked towards the dressing room, Australia do have a tactic regarding DRS against India, our batsman are told every time the ball hits your pad look guilty and Kohli will review it.

ICC wants to bury this to save Australians , it is as simple as that. Virat told whole world that he and his team told umpires about what Aussies were doing, go and ask umpires if Indian team told them or not.It is just that easy.I don't think Virat was speaking from his behind if they did not observe Aussies doing this before.

Why are Aussies so hell bent on moving on, where as in Sydney 2008 they were hell bent on reporting the matter to ICC , court and all the shenanigans which followed later.Where is their integrity this guy Kohli has accused them publicly and called them cheats if they did not cheat they should do everything to clear their name and make sure Kohli is punished.

Smith got caught this everyone agrees so why is he this cheater not getting punished then. Can any Aussie or the incompetent fools from ICC answer this?

No this has all come because your team's captain is a cheat for sure and we do not know how many more cheats are there sitting in that dressing room.
