Mosher
Anil Kumble’s tenure as the coach of the Indian national cricket team may be coming to an end, after the four-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia. Kumble was appointed as the India coach in June last year, after which he led the side to a 2-0 Test series victory in West Indies. Team India also went on to dominate the likes of New Zealand (3-0), England (4-0), and Bangladesh (1-0) in the ongoing home Test season. By virtue of these victories, Kumble has helped take Team India to the numero uno spot on the ICC Test rankings. However, according to national daily the New Indian Express, Kumble may be approaching the end of his tenure as India coach, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to offer him the role of team director. Kumble has already been asked by the BCCI committee of administrators (CoA) to file a cumulative report on the men’s national team, the India A side, the women’s national side, and the junior teams, after the completion of the Bengaluru Test, which Virat Kohli’s men won by 75 runs, according to reports. With Kumble being tipped to take over the team director role, his former India and Karnataka teammate Rahul Dravid is likely to get promoted from India A coach to being the coach of the national side. Incidentally, the CoA is also looking to dissolve the cricket advisory committee, which comprises of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman. Reports suggest that one of these three may be appointed as the manager of cricketing operations for the national side. http://www.deccanchronicle.com/sports/cricket/110317/rahul-dravid-to-replace-anil-kumble-as-head-coach-after-india-australia-tests.html schumibest, express bowling and G_B_ 2 1 Link to comment
flat_wicket_bully
Seems to be fake. Nothing on cricinfo either. And what will Kumble do any good being Teams Director if true schumibest 1 Link to comment
sourab10forever
Yes, fake. Dravid had turned down the offer last time. Why will he suddenly be interested ? Plus it is now mandatory to call for interested candidates and then have a proper selection round before appointing the coach. Mosher, OpeningBatsman, sscomp32 and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Sidhoni
Dravid is doing such a great job with the India A players, why would you want to change that? Link to comment
Lannister
Don't think Dravid is suited for head coach role. Make him a batting consultant or something. Link to comment

kosingh
If true, they were probably looking for someone whomcan provide batting help, and Rahul is too high profile to be batting coach. Link to comment
flat_wicket_bully
If true I think this could turn out to be most controversial decision in Indian cricket history and completely unnecessary one. sandeep 1 Link to comment

Vicks57
Dravid should look after the younger players. He is so valuable there. Always knew Dravid had more to give back to cricket than Tendulkar TheWall 1 Link to comment
