you need real fast bowlers. aggression is nothing without actual fast bowlers who can scare opposition. aggressive stuart binny will only provide comical relief for opposition.

there is a reason yuvraj singh was never given even a sniff at captaincy (unlike sehwag).. yuvraj just couldnt behave like an adult.. nice guy... but there is no way gautam gambhir, sehwag, dhoni, zaheer will give so much lenience to a player of their own team to play-fight with them forget a pakistani cricket player...

Dhoni looks lean and mean again. Looks like he has worked hard at his fitness recently. He had started to look like flabby. It shows his desire to play unlike motus like Bawla, RP, Mishra.

For winning abroad our bowlers ie Ishant,Yadav,Shami,Kumar should be consistent. We have seen for the most time our bowlers loose their focus after they pick 2,3 quick wickets. They should work as a team as our bowlers has not shown capacity to run through sides. Kohli should also look after the workload of bowlers,we have seen if one bowler is bowling well he is made to bowl more.Instead of preconceived notions, team should be choosen on horses for the course policy.

i like how kohli and dhoni are build right now, borderline ripped even. This is how sportsmen should be, not some wirey sanskari or thairsadham.

Let's hope for the best. I hope all these happens before the 17 matches get over. *Virat's captaincy blooms. *Dhawan gets sacked F.O.R.E.V.E.R *Pujara proves his worth *Rahane and Vijay realize that test is there game. Imrove in it and remove plans of LOI cricket. *Bumrah get a chance in the test team. At least try him. *Kumble is accepted as the best thing to have happened to Indian cricket since Kohli walked in.

Everyone had the talent to be known as a gr8 bowler, sad how many bowlers we lost . Blame on system n on themselves too. seen so many documentaries on guys like wasim, waqar, imran, mcgrath n realized one thing these guys may have had all the talent but lacked passion n hard work like legends. Ill keep Nehra away from including him with guys like sree, pathan, munaf, rp as he had a bpdy that didnt support him but he had the right attitude for a fast bowler

On a Bouncy Track-Rohit any day....best player of raw pace in India Spinning track-Yes Che But why does it have to be a Rohit vs Che debate?

Concentration problem is due to playing a lot of short formats cricket which has made bowlers lack patience. They look to try something new every ball rather in test matches u have to keep it there and setup batsman. Also bowlers n captains quickly go into defensive mindsets after 2-3 boundaries, whereas in past ull see many time gr8 bowlers use to offer boundaries to setup a batsman. Another reason our bowlers lack that extra sting is a lot of times they have to hold themselves back as we lack 5-6 bowling option now post sachin, saurav, sehwag. If we want to see Ishant, shami, umesh, aaron bowling quick n pacy spell they ll have to be given shorter spells and for that we need a 5th bowler. Thats y i think someone like binny is important as he bowls those extra overs giving rest to our main bowlers and he doesnt give too many runs away. Add to that he bowls such line that to much flirting with it can give u wkts. Take Shami, zaheer, Bhuvi for eg in Eng,nz,Sa tours where they had to bowl long long spells which affected them midway the tour. Our bowlers also have some individual issues like 1. Ishant- Had his wrist position and runup issues. His follow through is still not smooth and most times i feel he is confused about his role which is to hold or to take wkts. But god knws y he changed his action from when he debuted 2. Umesh- like many Outswing bowlers he tries to take the ball away from middle stump to outside off which if works looks wonderful but more often then not it ends up straying on legs. I remember sreesanth had same issue. Off lately i feel he doesnt use his bouncers well . 3. Shami- I think its his fitness more than anything which holds him back in test matches and injuries tht keeps him out of rhythm. 4. Aaron- Well has played to less to have any idea about his game so tries all sought of things and what makes it worst is the lack of control.

    Kumble backs Kohli's aggressive mindset

Dont know why people are always on the back of Pujara. I dont think we have a better #3 than him at this point. He was our bets batsman in the only test he played in SL on a seaming track and again, he was for me our best batsman against SA at home along with Vijay on those low scoring pitches.

Interesting points discussed by Kohli about Shami. Looks like he backs Shami's skills and pace. Working on Shami's consistency, especially in test matches, is one important aspect that requires attention and the team management seems to be focussing on this aspect. Kumble's appointment seems to have brought about identification and trying to rectify the weak points of each and every player....and that is really good.

Some excellent ideas introduced so far. Interactions between the various stake-holders is one of the best ideas. The inclusion of selectors , India A players and coaches in the planning process for the future would create an unity of purpose. I hope this results in the development and selection of the right kinds of players. with international potential, in the future for both team India and India A. Working hard on the weaknesses of individual players and working on the tailenders' batting are excellent steps too.

Eid-special sultan has already made close to 30Crs at the box office despite the film being leaked online a day before. Eid was also postponed a day . How do you think the film was? I certainly liked it more than any other Salman film. Not his huge fan but still felt the movie is a must watch. Certainly made for the crowd.

I have been keenly following for past few days all the news pieces of as to how kumble is approaching his work. There have been some very impressive moves by him . Talking about the meeting 1st Kumble has invited Dhoni, Kumble, Dravid , National n junior selector with NCA Coaches to plan a roadmap for future. He wants to make sure that every player in the system is being monitored at all times. Say a fast bowler is injured or he’s more of a Test specialist and is on the sidelines when the team’s playing a ODI series, Kumble wants routine reports on what they are up to as well. Full article- http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/meeting-of-minds-anil-kumble-dials-ms-dhoni-rahul-dravid-2888444/ Other Things that he has bought to the table was seen in the camp help at NCA 1. Changing the plan of 2 day camp to a 6 day intense camp. 2. Inviting India-A squad players and local ranji side players to the part of camp. I hope this doesnt stick to only karnataka side in future but to all sides where ever they play. Its a gr8 move as he gets a chance to closely monitor A-squad players. A bowler like Aaron feels a part of team. A squad bowlers n batsman get to face national players and learn from them. 3.1st time ever a wk was seen standing behind batsman during a net session. 4. Tailenders were given long batting sessions to improve their batting. (if signs are to be beilved Shami, ishant n umesh might play 1st test) 5. Kl rahul was made to stand n watch kohli while he was having a net session to observe him which a g8 thing to do. 6. All bowlers were asked to bowl at virat with full intensity to get him out which will help their confidence and improve their consistency. 7. Huge amount of time is being spend to work on shikhar dhawan's off side issues. 8. He has been talking about having a fast bowling coach soon which is a gud sign. 9. Few Net session have been done with an objective to counter reverse swing. 10. Binny,Saha have been given extended batting sessions against new ball as they are likely to face 2nd new ball in most scenarios 11. Re-introduction of buddy programme- pairing a batsman with a bowler or an allrounder: Shikhar Dhawan with Mohammed Shami, for example, or Virat Kohli with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/1031827.html?CMP=OTC-RSS&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Im not sure how the future may turn for the team but such small small things do make a difference and far better than sleeping fletcher ever did or loud talker shastri. Atleast he is making some good moves and working with all dept.

He was indeed ripped even in IPL.. Nice to see our players going Aussie way regarding fitness.. Dhoni Virat are setting up standards for the present team. Time for Maggi sharma and rest of them to step up..

Absolutely, actually there is no rift. Stories were made out of Bang tour when kohli made statement which was basically a diff in opinion which any two individuals can have. Post that they had many partnership and had there been any rift it wud hve been seen on ground. The way kohli batted in WC,asia cup ,aus shud erase anyone doubt about his Commitment to his captain as he batted like a man possessed. Infact if m not wrong kohli names Dhoni captain of his all time 11 and there cant b bigger respect than that.

Surprisingly, Australians dominate the top 10 nervous 90s list in Test cricket as 4 of them feature in this list. Interestingly, 3 batsmen jointly hold the Test record for most nervous 90s. Any idea who the 4 Aussies are? Or, which 3 batsmen are at the top? Take a look, I bet some of the names will surprise you. Eagerly awaiting your comments!

a player who wants captaincy/leadership needs to maintain a certain stature... a certain charisma if you behave like a tailless monkey... thats exactly how you will be treated. a far less gifted player ravindra jadeja maintains a far superior stature than bhajji and might even become the Gujarat Lions or some other IPL team captain in future...

Rohit is the ultimate FTB in LOIs and Pujara is another FTB in Test cricket, who is also mentally weak. We can't have such an inconsistent player bat at number 3 position. It's time to look beyond Pujara and invest in some other players. Would love to see this batting line-up, Vijay Rahul Manish Pandey Kohli Rahane Naman Ojha/Samson

Yes, but difference matters when you look at profitability. If they schedule it in the US, they either get TV viewership or ticket sales, not both. California is approx 12 hours behind India.. -If a match is scheduled at 8pm here, its going to be 8 am in India.. who's going to watch a match at 8am? -If a match is scheduled at 8pm India time similar to IPL, who's going to watch the match in the stadium at 8am? They'd rather have it at a timezone closer to India.

Watched Raman Raghav 2.0 This is a dark movie. Anurag Kashyap took seven years to make it (not literally but idea was conceived long ago). Acting is quite good. Watch it if you like psychological thrillers, especially the serial killer genre.

One area that I would like Kumble and Kohli to focus on with special interest is.....identifying and / or developing wicket taking bowlers for overseas test matches.

Yes. he really looks determined to make a mark even though his appointment is only for a year. Unlike previous coaches, he has been more active and is willing to give his full time. Him giving a full hour presentation with a proper road map just shows is interest in the job. He deserves this job even if did not have any skills. His hardwork compensates for it.

If anyone needs to sit out it should be dhawan and not pujara. When there are lots of quality batsmen in domestic circuit, what is the need to teach basics to a hack just before a test series and risk him in opening position.

Krunal as a bowler is nowhere near Jaddu to be honest. Its one thing to bowl a few overs in a T20 where batsmen are required to score about 7-8 runs per over. Jaddu the test bowler is a serious asset to the team. His poor batting often masks the value of Jadeja the test bowler to our team. But agree 100% on the Hardik Pandya non-selection. It just doesn't make any sense. Enough raw material there and a crying need for the team that he should have gotten opportunities. Inspite of his one-note short bowling tendencies. Groom him for ODIs at least. Don't see why he's passed over.

Rubbish idea already there has been an overdose of t20 cricket this yr lets our players be in the test mode and they need rest. if any injury happens to one of our main players then what does america have proper grounds and ofcourse timezone diff. Rather have tri-series with opp like bang,sl,wi so u can give rest to few players like kohli, ashwin and give chances to many new players. Also a tri-series would be far more competitive than boring one sided bilateral. We already are not playing many Odi b4 champions trophy next yr. M pretty sure even this kind of series would fetch a lot of money.

Aggresive mindset is only one thing that is to get out their and look for win which is what kohli looks for and kumble is rightly so by dismissing all people asking for change in the mindset. Somehow in India i dnt know y aggresive mindset is being considered as being rude or being rowdy. M happy to see whatever kumble is bringing to this team in terms of mindset and skill both. I think its gr8 to have someone with bowlers mindset in dressing room specially an aggresive and fighter spirit

I feel BCCI is trying hard to undo the 'rift ' bit that was encouraged by the likes of the cheer leader between the two skippers. The fact that almost all regulars in all formats including skippers were included in this camp shows that. This could also be a reason cheer leader did not find support.

Kohli has shown nothing but support for Dhoni whenever he has played under him. Dhoni also has never looked threatened by him. All this rift is media creation
