best WK and 3rd best ODI batsman we ever produced.

That only works if there are other pacers around you who can make a difference.......McGrath was more effective with that consistency because he had Lee,Warne in the line up who were capable of producing magic deliveries......Even Gilespee in his prime when he was quick. Similarly Pollock had Donald initially and then Ntini who were express bowlers. Steyn is also a consistent bowler because Morkel on the other end can rough up batsmen. Courtney Walsh had Ambrose,Patterson,Bishop which helped him take buckets of wickets with that consistent line. Take a look at Ishant right now he is confused to bowl an attacking line or defensive line due to lack of support........RP,Sree and even Ishant benefitted when they were playing with Zak for a reason.

1.Fastest hands i have seen be it his stumpings or be it his bottom hands while hitting shots . 2.Some one who performed beyond his potential and many more talented cricketers around him. He wasnt gr8 against fast bwoling when he came but now he can smash them with equal ease infact better than spinners . As a test batsman did well Sa,eng. Batted in lower order most of his career yet has an impeccable record. Also was a very avg wk when he came n now brilliant behind the stumps and those stumpings are just beyond words to express. 3.As fit as an ox, his running can put most youngsters to shame till date. 4. One of the Most alert Minds i have seen on field. 5. For me he ll be always the best ODI captain ever. 6. Most calm personalities i have seen, it says a lot about him when the man didnt pay any attention to all those stories of him destroying many legends career even though it wud be hurting for him or anyone to be blamed for it deep down inside. 7. For me his biggest Legacy would remain is showing us how to win finals and how to be calm under pressure. IF ganguly bought the fighter attitude dhoni added calmness to it .

Historically its been the best bat @ #4 to avoid unnecessarily expose him to the moving new ball at the loss of an early wicket. But with the batting depth that is much more common these days and the fact that you rarely get bowler friendly conditions, it makes sense to get your best bat @ #3. IMO it should depend on conditions and game situations - batting order should not be based on # of wickets fallen, but what the innings flow demands. On a tangent, this is especially true in limited overs cricket - the shorter the format, more crucial it is to get the right personnel at the crease making best use of the finite deliveries a team has to score off of.

Man how time has passed. Still remember him whooping Pakistan in vizag and then srilanka with that 183, Whopping Asif and Sami in 2006, hitting Akthar for four consecutive fours in Test match, CB series win and many close matches and he help us won. Happy Birthday MSD.

Our pace bowling culture as well as pace bowlers themselves have had many problems ....and one of the bigger ones is trying to be spectacular instead of being steady. So many pacers have tried or try to produce that magic delivery once in a blue moon instead of sticking to good length, around off stump , boring bowling ball after ball and and over after over. We do not need occasionally spectacular pacers but steady ones with wicket taking ability and pace/ bounce .

Everyone had the talent to be known as a gr8 bowler, sad how many bowlers we lost . Blame on system n on themselves too. seen so many documentaries on guys like wasim, waqar, imran, mcgrath n realized one thing these guys may have had all the talent but lacked passion n hard work like legends. Ill keep Nehra away from including him with guys like sree, pathan, munaf, rp as he had a bpdy that didnt support him but he had the right attitude for a fast bowler

Has been consistently performing for AFG. Certainly there best batsmen. Keeps and opens...Was impressive in the WT20. Strong attitude. Your thoughts? How good is he and will he walk into any of the top LOI teams? Scored 84 today against Scotland and single handedly carried their batting.

I have been keenly following for past few days all the news pieces of as to how kumble is approaching his work. There have been some very impressive moves by him . Talking about the meeting 1st Kumble has invited Dhoni, Kumble, Dravid , National n junior selector with NCA Coaches to plan a roadmap for future. He wants to make sure that every player in the system is being monitored at all times. Say a fast bowler is injured or he’s more of a Test specialist and is on the sidelines when the team’s playing a ODI series, Kumble wants routine reports on what they are up to as well. Full article- http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/meeting-of-minds-anil-kumble-dials-ms-dhoni-rahul-dravid-2888444/ Other Things that he has bought to the table was seen in the camp help at NCA 1. Changing the plan of 2 day camp to a 6 day intense camp. 2. Inviting India-A squad players and local ranji side players to the part of camp. I hope this doesnt stick to only karnataka side in future but to all sides where ever they play. Its a gr8 move as he gets a chance to closely monitor A-squad players. A bowler like Aaron feels a part of team. A squad bowlers n batsman get to face national players and learn from them. 3.1st time ever a wk was seen standing behind batsman during a net session. 4. Tailenders were given long batting sessions to improve their batting. (if signs are to be beilved Shami, ishant n umesh might play 1st test) 5. Kl rahul was made to stand n watch kohli while he was having a net session to observe him which a g8 thing to do. 6. All bowlers were asked to bowl at virat with full intensity to get him out which will help their confidence and improve their consistency. 7. Huge amount of time is being spend to work on shikhar dhawan's off side issues. 8. He has been talking about having a fast bowling coach soon which is a gud sign. 9. Few Net session have been done with an objective to counter reverse swing. 10. Binny,Saha have been given extended batting sessions against new ball as they are likely to face 2nd new ball in most scenarios 11. Re-introduction of buddy programme- pairing a batsman with a bowler or an allrounder: Shikhar Dhawan with Mohammed Shami, for example, or Virat Kohli with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/1031827.html?CMP=OTC-RSS&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Im not sure how the future may turn for the team but such small small things do make a difference and far better than sleeping fletcher ever did or loud talker shastri. Atleast he is making some good moves and working with all dept.

Binny Good that he has worked on his fitness but he is only in the team as we don't have a decent enough all rounder. Average bits and pieces player. What bowling is he talking about???

^^ Little harsh. He beat up SA bowling real bad in WT20. That was as brutal hitting i have ever seen. Pity his teammates and lack of experience of such situation didn't let AFG win.

He was indeed ripped even in IPL.. Nice to see our players going Aussie way regarding fitness.. Dhoni Virat are setting up standards for the present team. Time for Maggi sharma and rest of them to step up..

Two of the jihadis were followers of India's Zakir Naik. How is that scumbag is still free in a country where Taslima Nasrin has to beg to extend her visa. Why are Hindus so spineless..is it years of servitude to the Mughals?

Too late for that . There are too many who are already living illegally in India . I have heard quite a few cases of Rape/violence even in remote places cos of these guys in recent months . Unfortunately lot of them dont get reported , but funny thing is if some one goes after them it becomes a national issue .
