I recently met Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne, we were in the same elevator. This was in New Yok when they came here to play in Sachin vs Warne series 2 years ago. In the same hotel I also met Sehwag, Sanga, Wasim, Murali, Ponting etc. But truly the best moment was meeting Tendulkar. It was also very movie like moment as I reached hotel as soon as the game got over in the citi field and I knew his floor where his roon was through my league, so I pressed that floor number and when the elevator opened, Tendulkar was inside the elevator trying to reach to his floor. I was shocked and did not know how to react. But I also noticrd Tendulkar was shocked seeing a guy in Indian shirt holding his book. I promised him that I will not follow him to his room. I took a picture and he signed my book. Tendulkar left for his room and as promised, I took the elevator back down to the lobby(I ended up finding Donald and Pollock there). Meeting Tendulkar will always remain special. Have met Tendulkar, have met Federer, now only want to meet Dravid in person.

don ji ..... Even Umesh, Shami, Ishant and Aaron have all bowled some 150 k + balls But we don't consider them 150 k bowlers We consider them to be 135 k to 148 k bowlers .... their regular speed range Similarly, Amir is a 135 k to 147 k bowler in LOIs and 130 k to 142 k bowler in tests What bizarre claims ? We agree that Waqar was very quick between 1989-94, quick between 1989-97 .... Shoaib was the quickest bowler ever ..... Wasim could bowl quick when he wanted to but did not do it always.. Similarly, Srinath was very quick between 1995-97 and quick between 1991-99 Similarly, Indians have had multiple fast bowlers in the last few years, especially from 2015 WC. We are seeing 4 or 5 Indian quicks bowling 140 k + in almost every match they play nowadays. We have shown you some videos of Srinath bowling quick .... relative speeds are not easy to spot on videos What do you want .... a live video-call from Imran Khan ! While you provide source-less quotes of Lara

It would be okay to complain about ER if Umesh took 1 wicket for 80 runs in 10 overs or something, but this guy was complaining about a player who took 4 wickets.

Shami and yaadav have been off the mark.Expected though playing after a very longtime ,so cant blame them.

How many times Kedar has given India the wicket it desperately needed! He contributes with the bat many times as per situation. And like any other player fails sometimes. Yet his place always questioned because he is a bad fielder. From since when Cricket has become an athletic game. You don't need eleven players to be good in fielding. Few slow fielders can be accomodated. Shouldn't be an issue.

Huh? Why are people whining about the bowling? The results are pretty similar to last match even with bumrah and bhuvi. Only spinners have given away runs.

    Excellent interview of Sunil Gavaskar

even sunny gavaskar's wit is unparalleled, i ll never forgot his jibe prior to 2011 semifinal that pakistanis love coming to Mumbai

The guy can't play a bouncer from a medium pacer to save his life, and with a ODI batting average of 28 you are saying he can replace Jadhav as a batsman.

Average speeds definitely matter a lot. But that has to be average speeds of non-slower balls In LOIs, what happens is ..... average speeds often come down due to lots os slower balls And there is no data available for average speeds of non-slower balls for LOIs It matters a lot if done regularly ..... Amir does not do it anymore ..... but has no relevance to the accusation that Indians trundle Speeds were not shown on TV when Srinath was at his fastest between 1995-97 Just like you can't show me videos of Waqar bowling 153 k or Wasim 148 k Your own Imran Khan -- " Once in an interview, 1992 World cup winning Pakistan captain Imran Khan said that after watching him bowl 150 km/h speed on Indian pitches, he considered Srinath to be the most grossly underrated bowler in the world. " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javagal_Srinath The Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell revealed that Srinath was recorded at 157 km/hr on 27 January 1997 in the game at Paarl between India and Zimbabwe. He said about this game: "We then moved on to our second game against India, at Boland Bank Park. In all 236 was quite a decent score, as it wasn't the easiest of pitches to bat on, and Srinath I think bowled the quickest that any of our guys had ever seen. He bowled a really quick spell early on, even quicker than Allan Donald; he was timed at 157 km/h, a good 10 km/h faster than Donald was bowling throughout the tournament. Grant Flower was hit on the thigh pad, and when he came off he said he thought he had broken his leg" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javagal_Srinath

Average speeds carry little meaning in ODIs and T20Is for bowlers who bowl a lot of slower balls You need average speeds excluding slower balls .... which is not available for LOIs. You said that Indians trundle in India Pakistan matches .... so I gave you some match speeds Fastest balls of the last match we had and not career high speeds What has Amir's occasional quick ball got to do with this discussion ? Tests -- 4 series won by each ODIs -- Wins in all 6 WC matches by India -- CT 2-3 with CT 17 to Pakistan -- Asia Cup 3-2 to India T20s -- WT20 5-0 to India with WT20 2007 win by India -- Asia Cup 1-0 India Pakistan has won a few more low importance bilateral ODIs when they had their best wicket-takers, Shakoor Rana and Khizaar Hyat, in full flow

    Excellent interview of Sunil Gavaskar

Gavaskar when not obsessing over milestones is one of the best cricketing analysts out there...on one hand we keep gushing over boycott etc on their Yorkshire accent or even someone like David Lloyd who doesn't offer much from a cricketing analysis pov even though must say his wit is unparalleled. Who better than to talk about the game than the maestro himself...probably the most accomplished cricketer who is a full time commentator in world cricket...who else is even close? yeah he has his flaws or bias but when it comes to cricket acumen when the master speaks you listen and your cricketing acumen may just go up by a notch.
