Surprised to see so many people voting for Kumble in ODI team.

Akhtar, Zak, Srinath were better ODI bowlers. Even Agarkar to some extent.

What's there to dislike about this guy? For all his limitations, don't think anyone can complain about him not giving his 100%.

If batsmen were shown speeds after each delivery, then they will definitely tell better than viewers which bowlers are bowling 90mph and which one 95 mph

Trichromatic got a reaction from Khota in BCCI Acts on Kohli's Idea, Plans Special Pay For 'Only' Test Players !!!
This is similar to what ICC was trying to do earlier with BCCI. Cut their shares from ICC revenues and give it to other boards and call it fair distribution.

Thing is no one is saying that test shouldn't be more rewarding. But to make it more rewarding, you don't need to suppress T20. Simply pay higher salaries to test salaries without bringing IPL in the picture. That should still encourage players to play tests.

    For ex - say if
IPL player auctioned for 6 crores
    IPL player gets 2 crores
    Test players earns 1 crores
Test player gets 4 crores extra from IPL player to make total earning 5 crores.

Instead of doing this BCCI can allow IPL player to keep their 6 crores and pay 7 crores to test players separately. It will encourage players to try for tests and it will actually reward players who are good in all formats. Players will try to become better player in all formats rather than being tuk tuk one trick pony.

NZ and SA are producing flat tracks more often than earlier. Ball hardly swings in Asia anymore. It was much better for pacers till early 2000s with at least help in first session. Australia has never been flatter before. England is more or less with all the venues. It's just that England have much better pacers now.

So you were sad when India won World T20 and a test in SA to retained test no 1 ranking and when he hit winning six in WC?

I can just check user activity of ICF and see it was at peak during 2011 WC and I can read threads where everyone was just too happy.

But yeah everything went wrong when he became captain.

Trichromatic got a reaction from sarcastic in Dumbest new law in Cricket-Fake Fielding law
    1. Batsman can make mistake by walking. SRT once walked after gloving a ball down the leg to keeper against WI. By rules he wasn't out as his hands were off the bat when he gloved he ball. It can't be said that batsman has to walk always. Dravid didn't review while batting in England as he thought he edged the ball, when ball had actually hit his shoelace. Nowadays no ball is checked in almost all close cases and we see so many wickets on no ball.

    2. Bowlers aren't again ultimate judge to decide whether batsman is out or not. Their job is to appeal. Broad used to miss appeals multiple times back in 2011-13.

In the end, it's part of decision making and umpire is the person who has to decide that. In age of DRS, this is now not even called cheating.

On the other hand, fake fielding is part of the events when ball is in play and it is one thing where fielders get advantage of their non-cricketing skill. Check the video of Sanga, this should clearly be avoided. It is pure acting skill and nothing else.

Trichromatic got a reaction from sscomp32 in Kohli's top innings on difficult conditions (bowler friendly conditions+bowlers exploting those conditons)
Yes, that was great inning, but overall the trend is same. Once the conditions are difficult, others start outperforming him. Be it SA test series, Australia home series, tour to England. WI series in 2011.

He remains way too ahead of ahead of other on roads - Eng series at home, Aus tour, tons of bilateral ODIs. No one comes even close.

Trichromatic got a reaction from Khota in Washington Sundar failed the fitness test for T20 Series
    1. Cricketers have lower level to pass the test. Other sports have higher level.

    2. Not sure whether it caters specific requirement or not, but failing these tests isn't good at all. Any professional player should be able to do it. It's not the toughest test in world. You would actually be surprised if they see with your eyes players failing these tests.
