I guess he must have changed his tune then.
  2. King Kohli vs Sir Viv in ODIs

Sachin was quite hungry for his personal records from the 2000s onwards, unlike his batting in the 1990s. What matters more than hunger is the direction where it's oriented, i.e. for the team.
  3. The only major criticism that Kohli has faced this tour was his Test selections, and even in retrospect, people were right to criticize him about that. As a batsman, he has done everything and more that one could ask from him this series.

Rare to see someone like Vaughan, who calls Indians "donkeys", giving that level of respect. Goes on to show what a dominant performance this was in the bilaterial series
  5. the opportunity to do so in just around the corner.
  6. The Saffers got a royal pwning this series.
  7. Kuldeep and Chahal - Fan Club

The Kulcha fixed our wrist-spin issues, and now we need a paratha to fix our middle order
  8. Deepak Hooda, the finisher India needs.

that's putting it rather mildly... cough... CT 2017... cough. Anyway, I agree that the next-gen keepers need to make an impact in List A. Of this trio, Kishan seems to have found his groove by opening, and Delhi should have considered doing the same with Pant (either Chand or Gambhir could have dropped to 3).
  9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar should be dropped from the ODI team

Eng pitches don't swing much in ODIs.
  10. Indian Women defeat SA (Mandhana 84)

Roddy did well in her T20 debut.
  11. Nathu Singh should be on this list since he's 22. I think he's very well suited for T20s and potentially ODIs.
  12. Bhuvneswar Kumar averages 100 in this ODI series

It's not really a conclusion - more of an impression, and the reason I said this was because I don't recall many instances of Bhuvi picking up wkts in the opening spell. Will need to go look at the stats in more detail to confirm/debunk it.
  13. they should be grooming chahar as well.
  14. wish he had pinged Rabada a few more times.
  15. Deepak Hooda, the finisher India needs.

Yes, it may not be a bad idea to send him at 8 or 9. he probably offers enough just as a pure keeper. although, on this front, I wonder how Saha would fare in ODIs (as a keeper alone).
  16. Kuldeep Yadav vs Ashwin Ravichandran in ODIs

he would probably have done better, but Ashwin is quite a handy bat in non-SC conditions. this is probably why he'll end up getting selected ahead of kuldy even in eng and oz.
  17. Heinrich Klassen : Poor man's MS Dhoni

given Dhoni's current form, he is a poor man's Klaasen perhaps.
  18. Kuldeep and Chahal - Fan Club

Chahal did do well in the last full domestic season he played. Previously, he was under-bowled and poorly managed; and also played in conditions very inhospitable to spin bowling.
  19. Siraj has a very high SR making him even more of wkt-taker, but his temperament is suspect.
  20. Hardik Pandya, the complete cricketer.

I hope so, but I can already see him being the next Binny (as you said) in terms of his bowling, or even a sub-Binny (because Binny the bowler in ODIs was marginally better than Binny the batsman, even excluding the 6-fer). However, I think his batting could be better than Binny. But yes, I see some ICFers hype him up a lot for ODIs as though he's the second coming of peak Watto, peak Kallis, etc.
  21. Hardik Pandya, the complete cricketer.

shankar's bowling is much worse than pandya. but yes, he should have been tried out.
  22. Tiwary was ugly in his batting, but I liked his temperament in his brief ODI career.
  23. Gill found it tough going even against domestic bowlers. In fact, since Shaw was demoted from the opening position to No.3, he has been doing better.
  24. Since this question is probably about the best all-format player, it should go to peak Viv. He was a better ODI bat than Tendy and Kohli, although perhaps not as good a Test bat as Tendy (but better than VK). If Lara had taken ODIs seriously, he would have become the greatest all-format player leapfrogging Viv and Tendu.
  25. Bhuvneswar Kumar averages 100 in this ODI series

My concern would be that his death bowling has improved at the expense of his ability to pick wkts in the opening spell.
