Very good! 4, 7, 9 and 11 were incorrect
4 is Marshall as kooljatt said. 7 , 9 and 11 are Styen , Kallis and Joel Garner

Come on then !!!!!

I would not say that, there have been ATG all rounder whose primary skill has been bowling. Bhuvneshwar is not a good enough bat to be called an AR he's. A bowler who can bat

He is! May even open

Lara has more special great innings than SRT but SRT was more consistent over longer period. I'd say it's a close one between the two. Could make a good case for Lara>SRT

I watched this clip recently of Steve Waugh talking about Indias 1999 tour of Aus, must have been the first test and Aus were struggling at not much on the board for 4 at lunch, Waugh was new to the crease and Sachin got on Gangulys part time medium pace for a few overs. Waugh settled in, and went on to score a ton.
No, Virat is not that bad a captain.

Of course not but once you start off on such a bat note it's kinda all down hill
The point is this is where warm up matches come in handy. Not a shortened match against borderline novices, actual FC matches where the mindset is honed for an intense test series.
Those matches should be preceded by a camp focussing on skills like bowling the right length and judgment outside off stump. That's what Pak did right before their England tours. One innings of a 3 day match is not enough after a long run of short format matches.

Anderson is not an ATG because there are about 50 pacers in the history of the game with far superior stats overall. Just that simple.Aside from Steyn, Akram, Marshall and Hadlee.... who are the other pacemen with "far superior stats overall"?

KJ is a "better" batsman, but Krunal more suited to no 6

I was one of them, at least calling for Dhawan to be left out of the T20 team. Glad he proved me wrong

Yes, fortunately. One ball or bad shot away from it being needed. What if it was needed, like on his debut vs WI..?

How about neither - Krunal Pandya

But then there is a classic definition: Batting Avg > Bowling Avg.
1 hour ago, jalebi_bhai said:How would you define an all-rounder?
I do not think an allrounder has to be good enough to make the XI on one skill - only ATG all rounders were able to do that. The Pandyas are good batsmen. They maybe not as good as some frontline specialist batsmen - but the fact that they can chip in with overs and potentially wickets means that they make up for it.

That was not his fault, that is the fault of the selectors and management who decided on the final XI and its (im)balance.
He is an AR not a bowler, not someone who should be picked to bowl a full quota of overs/ We needed a 6th bowling option. Sadly there arent any apart from Hardik...Shankar and Hooda spring to mind but are they good enough...? Dont know if Sundar is a good enough bat
-
We lacked a 6th bowler today; Krunal is not someone who should be bowling full quota of overs. Both Pandya bros should play ODIs and T20Is , that will give us the balance we need. Hardik instead of Pant or Kartik , and that would probably be my ODI XI too.
I know Krunal didnt turn up with the bat either but Playing 5 out and out bowlers weakens the batting significantly and its not like specialist bowlers- Khaleel -we exempt from being hammered.

So the person who tweeted this was saj_pakpassion ... was it him who sent the question?
If so, he aint Indian anyway. And he got the exact response he was looking for

There is room for 3 openers, if it is a choice between Vijay and Mayank- I would agree with Vijay being picked given his experience in Oz and hopefully he is back in form on the back of his county stint. He should find the pace and bounce there less challenging the movement in England. Harsh on Mayank but hard to disagree
