  1. And brother in law of Bunty Sajdeh. Super lethal.
  2. I know, it is an endurance test, right? Means as a batsman one can bat for very long time without getting tired. I am asking how is it relevant in LOIs? A test for checking agility is more relevant as you need agile fielders and runners to save runs, catch and steal quick runs. The only place in cricket where endurance is relevant is for test batsmen who have to bat long without affecting their concentration. We are running no marathons in cricket for endurance. Even sports like Basketball where players need to constantly run to and fro has mostly shelved Yo-yo.
  3. So why no second chance for others? As I have mentioned before Yo-yo is used as a test to keep undesirables out rather than actually proving endurance. Oh, and also can someone enlighten me why is endurance required in LOIs where batting for long time is not required. Agility is more relevant in the field in LOIs. Please don't tell me it is for faster running between wickets when some of the slowest runners like Pujara and Ashwin with multiple run-outs in their career are able to pass Yo-yo.
  4. Now watch how he magically passes the test in a couple of days.

    India A Tri-Series in England, 2018

This Mayank Agarwal is as useless as ever, gets out for 4 from 12 balls. He scores heavily when in form and all other time fails miserably, has been the trend throughout his career.

If I get my hand tied and had a bomb under my a*se asking to pick either of Ishant or Umesh, I would probably pick Umesh. But that's only bcos Ishant is that crap.

  10. Langer was the most spoilt brat among a team of brats when he was playing. How times change!

How long will Vijay play test cricket?

Vijay should be given the next two tours and then we need to start grooming a youngster. This could have been started a lot before, but the management decided to play Gambhir, Mukund, Parthiv Patel, Dhawan, etc who were all short term solutions. Even Rahul isn't the finished material yet in overseas tests as evidenced by SA tour. First step will be to discard Dhawan, FFS how many more tours he needs to prove he is not an opener for overseas. Only then can another youngster be tried. It is not that easy to find an opener as can be seen with the Merry go round happening with teams like England, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Here in ICF people seem to not realise the tough role of an opener overseas. A youngster cannot just come in and start performing overseas.
  12. Should also include coaches in Yo Yo test. Kick them out if can't get bare minimum.
  13. Congrats, you are going to be a part of history

Why is it that fans fervently prefer defensive cricket?

It is Kohli who is preferring Karthik over Pant in LOIs and it is because he doesn't believe in youngsters. Fans mostly prefer swashbuckling players over defensive bats especially in LOIs. In ICF also most would like to see Pant atleast in T20s but Kohli and Shastri have other ideas.

We should follow a caste based posting system in ICF.

Virat Kohli gets his beard insured !!!

Rohit was being managed by Bunty but just changed to a different agency an year or so before to avoid Conflict of Interest issue. But surely Bunty is indirectly looking after him.

Sanju Samson fails yo-yo test, ruled out of India A’s England tour

Seriously this Yo-yo crap is not fit for purpose in Cricket. I would rather have a test which scores how many slip catches one is able to take, will be more fit for purpose in actually improving something in team. If we are saying young guys (teens and early 20s) can't score as much because of age, how is it a fair test? The test needs to have a different score requirement dependant on age if it is to make any sense. Otherwise it will be only a tool used to keep youngsters out of senior team.
  20. He is specifically talking about McGrath IMO as he found him tough to face. And we all know McGrath was a once in few generations bowler. Also Sachin being short in height would have obvious difficulty facing bowlers who get bounce from length because the balls would come to him at the height of a good length delivery.

Dinesh Karthik as backup keeper in tests

They are professionals and will know to keep personal and on field stuff separate

Dinesh Karthik as backup keeper in tests

Honestly I just don't trust Dhawan as a test opener in England as the new ball will do something regardless of how late in the season we play. So would go with Karthik right from outset if Saha is fit to play. If Saha gets injured we should play the original lineup with Rahul opening and Pujara or Dhawan at 3.

Dinesh Karthik as backup keeper in tests

I would actually be tempted to open with Karthik and Vijay, he can't do any bad than Dhawan. Infact him being a solid opener was the reason we won 1-0 in England (in 2007?) Get Rahul at 3 and make Pujara sit out for a few matches if he doesn't perform.
