    Shardul Thakur..ur thoughts?

whether he would become at the least a good bowler or not is the matter, but he deserves his chances.Proven failures like Umesh and Bhuvi(in one dayers) do not deserve their places in one dayers.Any way, if these 2 plays in further matches below par results are guarantees. That being the case taking chances with talented youngsters till we get at the least good bowlers is the way to go.

    Is Dhoni done?

still feels Dhoni should be tried at 4rth position with in first 15 or 20 overs for a few matches . If he fails then also, he should retire. Frankly his 2 last inns were disappointing especially that of 3rd one dayer. He should have blazed away in the end, but got out at the wrong time.Still feel he is the man to do consolidation and then play aggressively in the end if the first 2 wkts fall with in 15-25 overs.
  4. proven failures like Yadav,Bhuvi(in one dayers only) get selected to share new ball. 35+ avg:ing bowlers are not fit to be in the team .After testing them for a few games they should be immediately kicked out and new faces should be tested,Unfortunately that's not at all happening.

Whats your solution to improve our ODI team???

keep Dhawan,Rohit,Kohli,Dhoni as top 4. Bumrah,Kuldeep,Chahal should form the nucleus of bowling.Kick out proven mediocrities like Raina & Kartik for ever.Rahul & other promising youngsters should be given tried and tested for 5th and 6th slots.Kedar, Pandya,Jadeja should be played in rotation policy based on conditions.Ashwin too would have to be in contention as a bowler depending on playing conditions.Fresh talent should be continuously tried and tested for other bowling slots till quality pacers are discovered.
  6. the same set of antics he used to insult ceremony at border. Arrogance always bring about these type of results

Umesh Yadav - As brainless as ever

i think Umesh is the one with the worst econ: of all bowlers who have played over 50 one dayers....

Umesh Yadav - As brainless as ever

keep in mind even in these days there are several bowlers who goes only around 5 an over. And as if there are no potential bowlers in domestics this below average has been playing for almost 7 years now. What prevented the selectors in testing other promising youngsters in dead rubbers, against lower ranked teams etc etc? Who knows as to whether another Bumrah like bowler wouldn't have come out or not in the process??
  9. that i don't know . Only he and the captain can tell.I too was disappointed with Dhoni's way.

Look at your career before commenting on Dhoni: Shastri

absolute pathetic senseless statement from Shastri. This man must not forget that cricketers are not ordinary people and when playing for country and not perform they surely would come across criticism.

    Time for Dhoni to go?

you yourself can check his record...and i have conveyed my reasons for Dhoni clearly in my earlier posts. You shall stick on with your opinions and I shall stick on with mine.No problems

    Time for Dhoni to go?

even in the last 2 years , a few of them . For instance his partnership with Bhuvi in SL , his inns in WI, his 85 or so vs AUS etc etc. That's why his avg: still remains 50+ even in last 2 years. Add his still brilliant wicket keeping & astute captaincy tactics he is still worth his place in the team. The way he played in London was strange...agreed , but for others incompetency we can't blame him

    Time for Dhoni to go?

'even in India he hides behind the likes of Yuvraj, Raina, Jadhav or Rahane! ' ohhhh. ..........i forgot ..... in that world cup final in 2011 ,it was you who came before Yuvraj and won the match for India, not Dhoni.... And again, Dhoni's primary discipine is keeping, and he has been brilliant in his secondary discipline batting too. As if there have been lots and lots of wicket keeper batsmen who were such high calibre all round batsmen in all conditions.........

    Time for Dhoni to go?

not saying on the basis of his inns that happend in 2nd one day vs England.I agree, that was very strange. But his over all record in his last 2 years makes me feel he is worth a place in the team if utilized accordingly.you are quoting 1 inns vs Windies but what about several other inns he played his part superbly in victories???Keep in mind no body can perform in each and every match. We can't blame him for the incompetencies of others. He is too much a multi dimensional player to get neglected just because of a slight blip in one of his 3 disciplines.Any way each to their own.
  15. i don't spare Dhoni either while blaming.Dhawan and Rahul are culprits because they are supposed to score runs and not to get OUT so early in a mammoth chase, simple.Don't blame Rohit and Kohli much because they played their part in the first game courtesy law of averages.Every body can't perform in every match.isn't it????Others are all to blame for their incompetencies.
  16. I agree that Dhoni's approach was not at all the required one for that particular match. But having said that who knows as to based on what team agenda did Dhoni play that way??? Keep in mind Kohli himself stated he would be trying a lot of experiments before the world cup.So why can't it be a part of this long time experiment??????
  17. the calls to replace a proven certified great with a rookie youngster with the world cup only with in 1 year reach is delusional to say the least. The need of the hour is not to discard such a vastly experienced and great player, but to find a way to use the slightly diminished (in one of his 3 disciplines only)prowess of this 3 dimensional (captaincy, wkt keeping & batting) player in the most effective way for the team.

    Time for Dhoni to go?

First he needs to be tried in the match situation I was talking about.Other than that how can we tell??? If he proves to be a failure in that situation too , then we all can agree that he is past his sell date. As I said, in the match situation like that in yesterday in the 27th over, Dhoni shouldn't come to the crease.Only 2 wickets fell by 27th over implies the top 4 has taken the team score much further.Isn't it??? In such case a much agile newbie like Rahul who can stright away start rotating the strike and hitting should come to the crease. Similarly same avg: with slightly lesser str: rate in the last 2 years is not delusion. it is plain reality & hence reflection of his performance. In short the essence of what I said is to utilize the superb keeping expertise & captaincy tactics of Dhoni as far as it could be by 'channeling his slightly decreased batting ability in the most effective way as it could be'.

    Time for Dhoni to go?

Ofcourse..... I am one of those and I am saying with confidence & firmness of mind that Dhoni should be in the team.Having said that I too felt strange in the way Dhoni played that particular inns. Why he did, only himself and team management knows. But the thing is that if we check his last 2 years performance his avg: remains more or less the same but only his str: rate has decreased by a little.Hence taking his value as a pure wkt keeper and captaincy experience into consideration, he can still be in the team. But he needs to be properly utilized by team management. I think he can play as a 4rth position batsman if 2 wkts fall early with in first 15 overs or so.Means it is a situation in which firstly consolidation is needed and then after that playing aggressively. Dhoni with his vast experience is the most suited person to do this role. BTW some people here are supporting Rahul for 3rd(if Kohli plays 4rth) or 4rth position.Rahul or any other newbie, they are supposed to be unlike Dhoni.Isn't it???Means they can straight away start hitting out unlike Dhoni. That means they are qualified to bat at any position after 4rth because of their ability to hit out from the first ball itself straight away.So why can't Dhoni be 4rth and Rahul or any other qualified newbie be at 5th??????
  20. Only 23+ years of age. Played 5 inns scored 210 runs @ 42 avg: and 96+ str: rate. Performed brilliantly well in India and fairly well in SAF for a youngster.Yet he is not playing in ENG... What type of selection policy is this??????
  21. whether Dhawan tried or not, he is to blame because he got 'OUT' too early .That's the thing.Simple.Neither am i supporting Dhoni's approach.
  22. would agree with that. For some reasons may be as part of some team agenda(which he only knows), Dhoni played that way. But to blame Dhoni alone can never be justified.
  23. First of all accept the truth that not every match can be won, especially chasing a mammoth 322. Having said that if a fight was to be made out of the situation, either one of the openers needed to play a big inns(by law of averages it was to be Dhawan ) but didn't happen.Rahul failed miserably. Then if any chance, it was Raina to keep moving on and then Pandya needed to explode. All this didn't happen, then why blame Dhoni alone.???? BTW, i do not have any speciality towards Dhoni... just telling what i feel to be sensible. That's all.
  24. the main culprits in yesterday's loss was mainly seam bowlers, then Dhawan,Rahul,Raina & then Pandya in that order. And here some experts are blaiming Dhoni.
  25. well said .Dhoni still is very much a deserving candidate in the eleven , if used efficiently.
