  1. KKD hatsoff

DK always had the talent but kept underachieving. Also had a choker tag on him. What a way to comeback into the Indian team. One of the best ever T20 knocks. That too in finals. Don't think he will last long in Indian team due to his inconsistency but i don't mind him in place of Dhoni.
  2. Kohli's besties rewarded with category A+ pay deals

The lack of critical thinking by our thick tank is mind boggling. Just mindless application of rules. The only reason Rohit and Dhawan got A+ contract is because they are in the test squad which itself is a questionable decision. Dhawan as backup opener is ok but Rohit is an awful pretender of a test batsman. Chances are high that these two may not have a test career in a year or two and will be downgraded. Ashwin and Jaddu are far more all format players than those two. Don't mind them getting A category but giving A+ for these two bats looks bad. It's not about the money but status. Not sure Bumrah and Bhuvi have proven themselves to be given A+ but I can understand them getting being all format players.
  3. Time to get Jadeja back in the ODI mix

Best approach. Ashwin and Jaddu were allowed to get comfortable. Hence their cowardly bowling in CT 2017 where they darted hopelessly.
  4. Guess if this is a batsman or a bowler?

I opened a thread to discuss this exact issue before the SA series. Pandya needs to be a pure bat or bowler to have a test career. His domestic first class batting stats ain't flattering. Average of 30 right? Also Bhuvi Bumrah Pandya is not a ODI pace attack that can win tourneys. Chokes can happen anytime. Bumrah is solid. Bhuvi can be hit or miss in Odis. Pandya is just there to fill up overs
  5. Ashwin most likely to lead Kings X1

Haha. I never understood that logic. Before that Manan Vohra.
  6. Ashwin most likely to lead Kings X1

I thought kings xi has a really decent team. You don't think so?
  7. Ashwin most likely to lead Kings X1

Has led TN to Vijay hazard trophy victory before he was selected to play for India. Could have led TN to another victory 2 years back if not for his wannabe Bmac style field placing to gift a winnable game to Gujarat in semis.
  8. K11P Playing 11

Andrew Tye is a must. If he flops, it will hurt Kings xi chances a lot.
  9. K11P Playing 11

Mayank in form is a solid solid T20 bat. I rate him a lot. May not be consistent but an awesome bat in zone. I would back him more than Nair in T20s. Let's see: Finch KL Rahul (wk) Mayank Nair/Miller Yuvi Stonis Axar Ashwin Tye Rajpoot/Sran/Afghan spinner Mohit Batting is solid. Pace bowling section is weak. Even with 3 foreigners, a good team is built. Then you have Miller and the Afghan spinner who can be added anywhere depending on the pitch.
  10. Manish Pandey should be given a proper run in ODIs at #4

Pandey is the type who can score an amazing match winning knock in finals. But he is also a type who can flop in any game without a trace. Too untrustworthy. He has to get consistent. I don't see this guy as a mainstay.
  11. Can Shreyas Iyer do well at International level?

    Don't rate Iyer.
  12. Virat likes Rahane at #4 in ODIs :((

Is Kohli the odi captain going to be the Dhoni of test cricket? I have zero trust in Kohli the ODI captain. He needs to get his act right.
  13. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

Seriously not a big deal when team management sends you. Ash and Jaddu lost out to wrist spinners after ct debacle.
  14. Life mein comedy chaiye toh ye padho

Sad but from outside, funny though. They should make a movie out of it.
  15. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

Bcci offered to let these players skip loi leg.
  16. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

Why a third of first xi? All the test players except Kohli should have been flown. Loi leg of SL series started on 10 Dec. First test in SA started on Jan 5.
  17. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

You really believe that? 1. Atleast whole team wouldn't have been undercooked for the first test. Kohli might have struggled in first test but then we came real close even in Cape Town with him doing very little. 2. Our pacers wouldn't have wasted Bhuvi efforts by bowling the wrong length in first test first innings. 3. Batsmen would have adjusted better and not thrown away wickets that often. Australia prepared in UAE for weeks before India tour and they did well. So well, they almost broke us in Bangalore and could have taken the series too. Imagine how well this team could have done if we too had similar practice.
  18. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

Nah. No one asked Kohli to go. Just the rest of the team. Bcci were idiotic and the real culprits but team management was also idiotic. Apparently if one can't go, no one can go was their logic.
  19. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

I agree Kohli has been responsible for the team being built. He also had the good fortune of having players like Bhuvi, Shami, Ashwin and Jaddu maturing with experience. Many believe in Kohli's captaincy not for his onfield tactics which range from above average to downright poor but for his belief in bowlers and his inspirational leadership. That's why his moves in SA hurt cos it created an environment where no one was sure of their place and the wrong people were picked based on faulty analysis. All said and done, the team that went to SA was a bloody good team. And Kohli didn't close out the deal with his wrong moves.
  20. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

Many of us here are fans of Kohli including him being the captain....but criticism is valid. He almost lost the SL 2015 away series if Pujara didn't save his ass after getting dropped for first 2 games and picked to open on a green seamer. In gross islet, Ashwin and Saha saved us. Point is he made similar mistakes in the past. Moreover, this time Kohli had a gun team and all he had to do was take bcci offer to fly out the team early, pick the right team and we most certainly would have won the series. Noother Indian captain had the team that Kohli had this time. Yes he made some really good moves but his bad moves were worse. With all being said, I do think you raise some really good points reg his captaincy...aspects that deserve praise.
  21. Kohli's left field calls that went India's way

Huh what u on about? Anyways, he made some really good moves. Deserves to be praised. Sadly he also made some obvious bad moves which cost us a historic series win. So a bitter sweet test series. He made similar mistakes like this in 2015 and we thought he would have learnt his lesson but he didn't. Let's hope this time he does. Apart from this and being way too emotional, he has the ingredients of being a really good test captain.
  22. Play 2 spinners in England.
  23. Well OP would have been bang on right if catchers didn't fluff chances and we had a proper batting lineup for first test.
