  1. Women's Badminton has lot more diverse competition currently than say 6-7 years ago when it was just plain Chinese domination. TA Chinese player hasn't won Gold Medal in Women's singles in like 7 years I think.. Sindhu always played well vs Chinese players...even when Saina in her prime was struggling to beat the top Chinese players, Sindhu was able to beat the top Chinese players in World Championships when she was 18, 19 yrs old in 2013,2014. That's why she ended up winning a medal at World Championships(when she was 18 in 2013) earlier than Saina who was struggling a lot vs Chinese players in big tournaments. I would say that Sania is more consistent than Sindhu but Sindhu's ceiling is much higher. Sindhu is always inconsistent during majority of the tournaments in the year but then she always raises her game during the big tournaments. That's basically been the story of her career so far. Reaching atleast final in World Championships/Olympics for 4 straight years is amazing big tournament consistency, considering how competitive Women's Singles has been recently
  2. What exactly is even point of protests like this? Protests that happen in London, Toronto etc literally have zero effect...some of these folks do it just for the sake of some publicity and attention...Other than these NRI sikhs in Canada, hardly anyone in India even argue for Khalistan these days.
  3. This might actually backfire...decent chunk of farmers are struggling rn coz of this....if the issue just keeps on prolonging and if China doesn't cave in, then it's gonna backfire big time. Also, there is no guarantee atm that he is gonna get re-elected. It's going to be a close race.
  4. For me, 2011 World Cup win felt like pinnacle of my emotions as a cricket fan...I cried badly when we lost the 2003 WC Final...from that moment onwards, I have always been waiting to see India lift the cup...and then after seeing us win the 2011 WC felt like peak for me. After that I slowly started losing interest in all the bilateral series, hardly watch any bilateral series these days. It's mainly IPL and ICC tournaments that I follow in cricket these days. These days, I don't feel that sad over any of the losses..feel bad for few mins but then get on with my life. I guess it's something which naturally happens for lot of people as you get old.
  5. Dhoni isn't really the one to blame in a match like this..it was the top order which was utterly pathetic. If atleast one of them would have contributed, we could have won this match
  6. Looking at that list, Ganguly's strikerate was really piss poor
  7. I expect Wimbledon final (that's gonna happen on the same day) to get better ratings in England than World Cup final. The first week of Wimbledon so far has been really good with lot of fun matches and some really good stories......the young 15 year old American girl Gauff has already been a huge story.
  8. People are really delusional if they think a movie can become such a big hit with only guys watching it...Shahid isn't some star hero or anything...for a movie like that to become such a huge blockbuster, it's pretty obvious that even girls are liking the movie. Not denying that there aren't some questionable scenes in the movie but the thing is most of the girls I have seen on social media also seem to be liking it. So yeah this movie becoming a big success doesn't have anything to do with only guys watching it.
  9. this is so not true lol...most of the girls are loving the movie. A movie doesn't become such a big hit just because only men watch it
  10. There are some issues in Arjun Reddy(I haven't seen Kabir Singh.) but people are overblowing it...watch Baradwaj Rangan's take on it. He reviewed it really well, not a surprise as he is a national award winner in critics. The thing people are not realizing is that even Preethi is kind of a nutcase, not just Arjun/Kabir. I didn't like this scene but when the first time Arjun kisses Preethi, she doesn't say anything...she doesn't oppose it. Infact, it's pretty clear from the movie that she likes being dominated by Arjun. The guy is topper of the batch, handsome, good at sports, filthy rich...pretty much most of the girls in college in India would fall for a guy like that...it's not some unrealistic scenario or anything. The one scene which I didn't really like was him going to class and warning other students about Preethi being his girl...I felt this one could have been dealt in a better way. When I saw it in Telugu, I was pretty sure that it would work even better in Hindi. These kind of movies have much better reach in Hindi than in regional languages. Looks like it might even end up as highest grossing Hindi movie of the year. Vijay has gotten pretty good cult following after this movie...wouldn't be surprised if the same happens with Shahid too. T On the whole, it's a pretty good movie despite having some issues, I personally loved Shiva (hero's friend character) and Arjun's grandma a lot in Arjun Reddy. The guy was so much fun, his conversations with Arjun were really fun. Movie also had some great music. It's fitting that even Arjun Reddy music director is also a big nutcase irl.
  11. How times have changed...we are relying more on bowling these days. Our current bowling lineup + 2011 WC batting lineup will win the World Cup comfortably...this current middle order is just a freaking joke. Without Virat, Rohit, this team's batting is just so bad & mediocre. Not much hitting options other than Hardik.
  12. World Cup should have similar knockout format as IPL imo - let first & 2nd placed teams play qualifier and 3rd & 4th placed teams play eliminator like how it's done in IPL...this will ensure that no matches are dead rubbers even if the top4 teams are decided much earlier...also rewards teams who have done well throughout the tournament.
  13. Bad ball from Shami...got lucky that Nabi couldn't connect properly
  14. Are Manjrekar and Ramiz drunk? Why have they been saying India has this match in bag when Afghan still have decent chance to chase it? I mean 35 from 4 overs is easily achievable, especially with a set batsman at crease. They were saying this even when Afghan needed 60 from 9 overs. Either just pure disrespect to Afghan or these idiots spouting bs
  15. Boring World Cup....I found even last WC boring..2011 was really good though....I guess I am just tired of ODIs these days. I hardly watch any ODI bilateral series. IPL and T20 World Cup for me are the only 2 things I look forward to in cricket these days, especially IPL...IPL is so much better, entertaining and also better planned than WC.
  16. Not much surprises when it comes to LS elections this time...expected comfortable win for NDA. I am mainly curios about assembly elections in my state this time (AP)...it's gonna be super tight. Even some reliable exit polls agencies have made contrasting predictions for AP this time. Personally, I think Jagan is going to edge this one....CBN has been acting strangely in last few days with all these meetings with 3rd front leaders. One thing for sure, I don't see either of BJP, Congress winning a single LS seat in AP atleast in near future. Congress though have royally messed up the way they handled Andhra over last decade. It used to be such a major state for Congress, it went from winning 32 seats in 2009 to almost 0-1 in both Telugu States this time. It has totally disappeared in Andhra now, all their major leaders also shifted to TDP, YCP. KCR is trying to do the same thing in Telengana. BJP has almost zero presence in Andhra, I don't think it's gonna change in near future..but atleast in Telengana, I think BJP can slowly get better in future.

    2 (8) in a final

Both Dhoni & Lebron have similar record in finals 3-6 :)
  18. That last one was a clear LBW. I saw the replay later...that was a good decision
  19. If that's the case, why doesn't every IPL final end in a last ball finish lol...thing is T20 is a dynamic format which has lots of twists & turns. Just look at the last T20 World Cup..imagine if that India-Bangla match happened in IPL? Pretty sure everyone would be going OTT with fixing claims. Same thing with final where Braithwaite hit those 4 sixes...that's the thing with T20s. It's just way too unpredictable. Moreover, first appreciate the bowling man...Malinga just didn't give Watson, Jadeja any loose ball in final over...he just executed it perfectly. It was excellent death bowling from MI fast bowlers that won them the match. Just think logically for a second, cricket is a sport where if you wanna fix something, then almost majority of the players need to be part of it. Most of the players involved in this match are high profile Indian & international players. These are players who already earn ton of money and also have big legacy. Why would they even want to risk all of it just for fixing a match? It sounds extremely dumb even on IPL part if even just one of the player comes out lol. There might be spot fixing here & there in cricket but the notion that these matches are fixed is just stupidity imo...especially high profile tournaments like this. Also, if I am IPL president or anything, I would rather fix it to have some new teams like say RCB vs DC/RR in final than have MI vs CSK lol. We have decent number of close finishes due to the nature of format and the fact that most of these teams are lot more evenly matched.
  20. Umesh Yadav is the most brainless bowler I have seen in recent times...gosh it's so frustrating watching him bowl
  21. Why would Vihari go for high price? I don't think he is an ideal T20 batsman. I remember him playing for Sunrisers in 1 season and he wasn't that good, also had relatively low Strikerate
