  1. Mumbai next match is on 20/11.
  2. The IPL could be advanced by a couple of weeks and is likely to start on March 23 to accommodate the Indian team management's request to allow their fast bowlers adequate rest before the World Cup starts on May 30. India captain and coach Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri are believed to have laid out the need for at least a two-week rest period for their fast bowlers during meetings last month with the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the board's senior management team. They are also believed to have asked whether key players, including senior fast bowlers, could be rested from the IPL and adequately compensated if so. These meetings, held in New Delhi and Hyderabad, were also attended by Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, vice-captains of the ODI and Test sides respectively, and selection committee chairman MSK Prasad. The IPL management, headed by chief operating officer Hemang Amin, is understood to have told the CoA that the Indian team management's request would need the consent of the franchises, which could be hard to come by. In turn, this may have forced the BCCI into considering an early start. During these meetings, ESPNcricinfo understands that the two-member CoA, comprising Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji, also made it clear to Kohli and Shastri that while India remain the No. 1 Test side, they have been "found wanting" in South Africa and England. The CoA is understood to be displeased about some of the grievances put forth by the team management pertaining to inadequate facilities at the team hotel and players' partners not travelling with the side. The CoA also apparently didn't take too kindly Shastri's comments about India being the best travelling team. The CoA is understood to have told Shastri that even if India is one of the best teams going around, people should be allowed to judge for themselves. The BCCI is also exploring the feasibility of hosting IPL 2019 in India, but can only take a final call on this once the dates of the country's seven-phase general elections are announced by the Central Election Commission. A team has already carried out a recce in South Africa, should the IPL need a plan B. It is likely that a clearer picture will emerge ahead of the player auction in Jaipur on December 18. http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/25217608/ipl-2019-likely-start-early-give-india-break-world-cup
  3. Gautam Gambhir slammed BCCI, Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) for allowing former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the bell at Eden Gardens ahead of the first T20I between India and Windies, on Sunday. Azharuddin, who completed the ritual of ringing the bell at Kolkata, was earlier handed a lifetime ban by BCCI for his involvement in the 2000 match-fixing scandal. The former Hyderabad batsman's ban, however, was lifted after 12 years in 2012 by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Gambhir made his disappointment clear through this Twitter account. The Delhi cricketer tweeted: India may have won today at Eden but I am sorry @bcci, CoA &CAB lost. Looks like the No Tolerance Policy against Corrupt takes a leave on Sundays! I know he was allowed to contest HCA polls but then this is shocking¦.The bell is ringing, hope the powers that be are listening." https://in.yahoo.com/cricket/news/gautam-gambhir-slams-bcci-coa-063426003.html

  6. Andre Russell to miss T20I series against India West Indies allrounder Andre Russell will not be part of the T20I series against India, after it emerged on the eve of the first match in Kolkata that he was injured and had not yet arrived in the country. Russell was one of seven players supposed to join the T20I squad over the last three days, but his absence during the training sessions at Eden Gadens - his home ground in the IPL - was conspicuous. Russell recently played the CPL for Jamaica Tallawahs, and then went to the Afghanistan Premier League where he played one game for Nangarhar Leopards on October 9, a day after he had been picked in West Indies' T20I squad. Three days later, on October 12, Russell said on Instagram that he was leaving the APL early because of what he indicated was a knee injury. Russell had not been picked in the ODI squad for the India tour because he had been "ruled out of all 50-over cricket due to injury." In a release on the eve of the first T20I, West Indies' chairman of selectors Courtney Browne confirmed that Russell was injured, without elaborating. The West Indies T20I squad is already depleted by the absence of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis at the top of the order, with both players pulling out due to personal reasons. http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/25164829/andre-russell-miss-t20i-series-india

  12. "Embarrassed" by the biscuit-shaped trophy that became a social media joke before the T20 series against Australia, the Pakistan Cricket Board Wednesday launched an inquiry into the fiasco and its marketing head resigned. Social media was flooded with jokes ridiculing the PCB after a biscuit-shaped trophy was unveiled for the series earlier this month that Pakistan won 3-0. "The silverware was an embarrassment for us and investigation is being held as to how the concerned department allowed this to happen," a PCB official said on condition of anonymity. Another source said the head of PCB's marketing department, Naila Bhatti, has now resigned. "The PCB is subsequently planning a revamp in its marketing department," he said. The silverware for the T20 series was trolled across social media platforms, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) added fuel to the fire by comparing it with the Champions Trophy silverware. The source said the Board has ordered the inquiry into the functioning of its marketing department, which currently has 13 members https://www.sportskeeda.com/cricket/pcb-launches-inquiry-into-biscuit-trophy-fiasco

  21. Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar has decided to call it quits from all the forms of the game with immediate effect. He will not be featuring in the upcoming for Ranji Trophy season for Uttar Pradesh and wants to allow the youngsters to stake their claim in the side. Kumar was a vital cog of the Indian team a few years ago and has witnessed several memorable victories when he was at the peak of his career. The 32-year-old last played for Team India in March 2012 in a T20 International and was then sidelined due to the injury only not to be considered ever again. However, during his 13 years of competitive cricket, Praveen Kumar featured in 66 first-class and 139 List A matches. He played 68 ODIs, 6 Tests and 10 T20 Internationals for his country and was a reliable swing bowler during his career. He ended his career with 112 international wickets to his name. I have no regrets Praveen Kumar will continue to play company cricket for ONGC and have no regrets whatsoever for the way his career panned out. Moreover, he wanted to make way for the youngsters and didn’t want their careers to be affected because of him. “I have no regrets. Dil sey khela, dil sey bowling daala (I played and bowled with my heart). There are good bowlers waiting in the wings back in UP and I don’t want their careers to be affected. Mein kheloonga toh ek ka jagah jayega, (If I play, one spot would go); it’s important to think of other players’ future as well. My time is over and I have accepted it. I’m happy and thankful to God for giving me this chance,” he said while speaking to the Indian Express. Praveen also went on to say that it was the right time to hand over the baton while also expressing his wish to become a bowling coach in the near future in order to help the budding cricketers. “I have decided to retire from cricket. The decision is not taken in haste, I gave a thought over it and I felt it was a right time to say goodbye to the sport which gave me so much. I want to thank my family, BCCI, UPCA, Rajeev (Shukla) sir for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my dreams. want to become a bowling coach. People know that I have this knowledge. I think it’s an area which I can work dil se, I can pass on this experience to the young ones,” Kumar said. https://www.crictracker.com/praveen-kumar-announces-retirement-from-all-forms-of-the-game/
