Why keep playing in ICC events and every other sport? Either do full boycott in everything or stop half arse boycott of bilateral series cricket matches.

putrevus got a reaction from SK_IH in Managing the workload of Shami and other Team India pacers in domestic cricket
Shami needs to get match fit and is rightly being asked to play Ranjis. You cannot expect them to be wrapped in cotton wool, they are bowlers and they need match practise.

Vinay Kumar has FC bowlin avg of 23.53, much better than mohammad shami, Does that make him a better bowler?

FC stats are not everything, players like Pandya and others have dismal FC record yet they are performing better at Intnl stage.

If Rohit becomes opener we will see Hafeez 2.0 repeated, what was it 7 ducks for Hafeez vs Steyn.Rohit days as a test player should be finished.

putrevus got a reaction from GoldenSun in Thommo - how quick was he?'
I heard it all, Vinay Kumar bowls at 151 .Akram and Thompson are medium pace trundlers.Lack of safety gear made 1980s WI  bowlers into super fast bowlers from medium pace trundlers.

If I am not wrong I remember seeing a video of Shivlal Yadav talking about this stadium, how he visited stadiums all over the world and tried to design the best stadium.Best stadium my foot if it does not even have roof for fans to watch test cricket or cricket during day time. It is all about corruption there ,HCA is worst and these two Yadav and Ayub have made a mockery.

Did this guy Fakhar get any lives in CT finals. This guy looks like pure slogger, more I see this Pakistan team more I become mad on Kohli for losing it.There is no disgrace in losing match but it is an utter disgrace to lose to this Pakistan side.

putrevus got a reaction from tweaker in Dhoni needs to follow Nehra
Dhoni please take clue from Nehra and retire. You never were good enough batsman in T20s but how you were allowed to play this long is the biggest mystery.
When you have one lousy half century in 80 matches, you should have been kicked out long time ago but that is not going to happen so please retire.

    http://www.news18.com/cricketnext/news/ashish-nehra-set-to-retire-after-new-delhi-t20i-against-new-zealand-1543289.html
Veteran speedster Ashish Nehra has decided to retire from competitive cricket after the first T20 International against New Zealand at his home ground, Feroz Shah Kotla, on November 1.

According to a senior BCCI official privy to the development, the 38-year-old Nehra has intimated his decision to chief coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli.

With ICC not slotting any World T20 in 2018, Nehra apparently told the team management that it is only fair that performing juniors have a longer rope. It is understood that Nehra won't play even in the Indian Premier League's next season.

Making his India debut back in 1999 under Mohammed Azharuddin, Nehra has so far played 17 Tests, 120 ODIs and 26 T20 Internationals for the country. He has picked 44 Test wickets, besides 157 ODI and 34 T20 scalps.

"Yes, Ashish has told both Ravi and Virat that he does not want to continue beyond November 1 when India plays New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Obviously, there is some element of surprise. One thought that he would like to continue till the home season against Sri Lanka. But he feels, it's the right time to move on," the senior official was quoted as saying by PTI.

Nehra was recently picked for the three-match T20 International series against Australia but everyone was surprised when he did not figure in the playing XI for the first two matches.

"Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah are form bowlers and Ashish felt that it's only fair in the interest of the team that they continue.

"Bhuvi has improved as a T20 bowler in leaps and bounds and Ashish said that the pair should continue. Had there not been a match at Kotla next month, Ashish would have retired after playing the third T20 International at Hyderabad on October 13," the official said.

The Kotla T20 will give Nehra a chance to finish his injury-plagued career at his home ground. He is best remembered for his 6 for 23 against England at Durban in the 2003 World Cup, a match he played despite being unwell and frequently throwing up in between his overs.

He was also a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad with a match-turning performance in the semi-final against Pakistan. He missed the final due to a finger fracture. It is learnt that a few IPL franchises want Nehra as their bowling coach-cum-mentor as his expertise and knowledge with white ball is considered to be unparalleled.

Totally disagree. One has captained and won all major ICC tournament titles, the other has a grand TOTAL OF 0 MAJOR ICC TOURNAMENT WINS!!

There is no comparison in terms of ability either. Agreed, Dhoni's best years are past him, but Misbah was never a Dhoni type player. Dhoni in his best days had the ability to turn the game on its head with his batting.

Let's not make unfair comparisons between two very different players.

To all ICF'ers.... This thread has derailed and there's too much of muck. For f**ck sake, we are cricket lovers, not in the army. All the Indian ICF'ers, if we want to have more members and more international members , we need to up the quality of our argument.

I don't know how, at this day and age, we are not including a single 6 hitter from No.4 to No.6 in LOIs.

Ideally, there should be atleast 2 such hitters based on present-day ability.

So does it prove that he is great T20 player? it just proves we had very good teams and he happened to be the captain and a good odi captain.
Main problem is Dhoni is reason why Indian T20 world cup team never reached their potential both with his captaincy and him being a very average T20 player.

This top order (Rohit, dhawan and Kohli) have been our best batsmen in LOIs for past 4 years, if you start attacking your best players just to defend a middle order flop then you really do have fan boy syndrome

Big names like Gambhir, Sehwag, Yuvraj and Raina who are all much better T20 cricketers than Dhoni have been rightly dropped from the team because their performances weren't up to the mark but this guy keeps on getting selected series after series and world cup after world cup with a free coupon.
