Neembu Paani v/s the rest

Which drink, apart from water, you find most refreshing?

For me, Neembu Paani is the king. Simple, unadulterated good wholesome drink. Very refreshing on a hot summer's day.

Cold Coffee comes second. Coke/Pepsi don't even figure on my list.

Fresh tender coconut water by far. One has to be sure to get TWC that is not too sweet - it ruins the experience. The scooped semi-solid endosperm (also has to be the right consistency; if too thick and chewy, it ruins it) after the refreshing TWC - heaven.

Second on the list - fresh squeezed sugarcane water with lemon, ginger and a bit of salt.

As for neembu-paani, it has to be salted and very lightly sweetened for me.

My favorite;

The subcontinent is home to THREE of the most famous teams in world cricket. These teams are, India, India 'A' and the Indian u19s.

Honorable mention = Mangola
We watch sport to see the response of human beings under forceful pressure. The tennis rally is a conversation. Cricket's exchange is an interrogation. There is pathos in a dismissal that I think has no parallel in sport. But for the interrogation to feel significant, one needs good pitches and good bowling attacks. It is unrevealing when the interrogated run the show like ringmasters, as they do these days.

i used to drink sugarcane juice mixed with lemon,Pudina, Ginger and Black Salt....almost daily in summers

but i have not touched the sugarcane juice for last 10 years because of pathetic hygienic conditions at the juice shops...

Coconut water is a rare commodity in delhi..and is available at relatively higher cost...

Chilled Nimbu Paani is the best thing to have during hot and humid summer...

there is nothing like Nimbu Paani and i like "Banta" ...lemonade with lemon,sugar, Blacksalt...ahhhhh

there used to be one Thelawala outside our school who used to sell a drink ..forgot the name...

there used to be Pudina, tamrind, Lemon, Blacksalt, Green Chilly and ice...the taste was amazing..

I love goli soda actually. But if you're traveling from Kohlapur to Hubli (Maharashtra to Karnataka border), then don't get goli soda along the way. You'll get a stomach upset and fever. It'll be bad for you.
