  1. Controversial topic but I have felt this about Rohit for a while (haven't run a statistical check), I don't think he has the technique to be an effective opener overseas against good quality seam attacks. He is overly defensive and saps momentum away from the rest of the lineup. He struggles with the moving ball (e.g. Amir in CT Final) when conditions suit and struggles to hit back of a length deliveries. Already in the game during the first over to More Morkel, two half volleys were bowled but because he's camping on back foot he didn't have the confidence to go on the front foot and punish the loose deliveries. I know its sad to think this because our middle order is really poor at the moment and our opening 3 are our main strength, but I think compared to other countries e.g. England, Rohit weakens the attacking potential of our top 3. As I type he hits a beautiful six...lol! Don't feel he does that often enough though...I hope he continues to prove me wrong today
  2. Now that we know that the springboks are clueless with the wristies, isnt it time to bring in another spinner and close out all exits for them. Axar can do what Pandya can do with the bat, and I don't think he will have to do much either, with the way things are shaping up . Will Kohli bring Axar in place of Pandya?
  3. After two contrasting matches, the India vs Sri Lanka three-match One-Day International (ODI) series goes into the decider. 4. Virat Kohli's men will aim to bounce back and put things back on level terms when they take on New Zealand for the second ODI match in Pune. After a stunning run of six consecutive bilateral series wins, the Blackcaps have put Team India in a shocking 'save the series' situation after they upset the home side with a six-wicket victory at Wankhede, on Sunday. With the three-match series lying as 1-0 in favour of the tourists, Virat and Co have an uphill task in stopping yet another Kiwi uproar Pitch and conditions The last international match in Pune was a Test that didn't last three days. The ODI, prior to that, saw 351 chased down by Kohli and Kedar Jadhav. Runs are usually freely available at this ground, especially with short boundaries. There is no chance of rain. Squads: India: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shardul Thakur. 8. Date: Sep 17, 2017 Start Time: 13:30 IST | 08:00 GMT | 13:30 Local Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai last A long home season of limited overs cricket looms ahead for Virat and his boys as they welcome the mighty Aussies for 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is. .Australia are without pace spearheads Mitchell Starc & Josh Hazlewood due to injury. With Aaron Finch ruled out for the first few games, Peter Handscomb, who batted out of his skin in the Chittagong Test against Bangladesh, has been named as Finch's cover . The Indian team selectors haven't announced a replacement for Shikhar Dhawan for the first three ODIs, who has requested leave to look after his unwell wife. It's widely believed that Ajinkya Rahane would partner Rohit Sharma at the top of the order but with Manish Pandey making a fair claim for a spot in the middle order and Kedar Jadhav cementing his spot as a utility man; it remains to be seen who makes the final XI on Sunday. Would India make the mistake to underestimate their opponents? One thing's certain that with Virat at the helm, he'll not be taking anything for granted. Squad Australia ODI squad: Steve Smith (c), David Warner, Ashton Agar, Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Patrick Cummins, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Adam Zampa. 14. India will aim to take a 2-0 lead when they face a lacklustre West Indies in the third tie of the five-match One-day International (ODI) series at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua . After the wash-out in the opening match, the hosts failed to match the men-in-blue, falling to a massive 105-run loss in the second game. Ahead of the third game, the West Indies have strengthened their line-up with the addition of two new batsmen in Kyle Hope and wicketkeeper-batsman Sunil Ambris. India will play their first ODI match against West Indies on June 23 at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. Who should be in the squad for the Windies series. I don't think this selection committee is going to take risks & select some youngsters in the squad
