It is painful yet again to see Indian bowlers specially the pacers , struggling to knock off the lower middle order of opposition, Painful in the sense when we already have good enough bench strength in pace bowling department why not use them ,which can earn a well awaited series triumph in SENA countries Time and again we have seen the likes of Umesh,Shami etc blow hot and cold and costing India series in these countries Atleast they could have omitted Umesh,he is done Saini, Rajpoot,Siraj are toiling hard in domestic and A tours for what? Any sane mind would have included atleast one of them Even if they have missed the opportunity ,can they change the squad in middle of this series by sending replacement of Umesh atleast and Shami for the that matter(as I don't see him lasting the whole series) Should they fake injury of these two and send able replacements?
Bumrah is a rare gem. A thinking fast bowler with genuine pace, bounce, accuracy, stamina, seam movement and other skills. He knows which balls to bowl when and thinks about the playing conditions and batsmen's weaknesses. And has shown the promise to run through sides in tests. We need to preserve him and see to it that he is not overworked. For this, he needs rest against the weaker teams in bilateral LOI series. Many knowledgeable ICFers have been saying the same. I am in favour of playing him in most tests. Test match stats and success is what makes cricketers great. It would unfair to him to prevent him from getting wickets against the weaker teams. Bhuvi needs rest too as he is carrying a back stress and plays all 3 formats. He is priceless to us in T20Is and overseas tests. His ODI performances are subpar and I am in favour of resting him in this format. We need 2 new LOI pacers. Umesh is too inconsistent, Shami too unfit to play 2 formats, Kaul and Unadkat are subpar trundlers. My picks are ... Khaleel, Siraj, Prasidh and Rajpoot for ODIs Khaleel, Chahar, Prasidh for T20Is. Who are your picks ?
