  3. I don't understand why people are criticizing Gambhir. Dhoni is hanging on to his place despite poor form but wanted Gambhir out 3 years ahead of the next world cup! Dhoni is a big hypocrite and I am glad Gambhir spoke out. https://news.com/sports/cricket/article/gautam-gambhir-heavily-criticised-on-twitter-for-questioning-ms-dhoni-s-selection-policy-during-2012-cb-series-between-india-and-australia/329292
  4. https://m.sportskeeda.com/cricket/twitter-abuzz-with-speculation-about-ms-dhoni-retirement-odis-t20is Following India's defeat, footage of former skipper MS Dhoni taking the match ball from the umpires before walking back to the pavilion emerged. And that led many wondering whether that is the beginning of the end for the 37-year-old. The not altogether uncommon scene of a player taking the match ball led many on Twitter to speculate whether the 37-year-old was going to announce his retirement from international cricket. While it is true that Dhoni took the stumps following a drawn Test against Australia, which turned out to be his last Test.

    Virat Kohli+ MS Dhoni

It is good to see the camaderie shared by this two on the field.Virat has not shyed to take advice from Dhoni We had seen how players were having problems with past captains ie Imran -Miandad, Kapil- Gawaskar etc. This two have set a very fine example for young players to follow

    Dhoni's Batting Position

Where do you want to see dhoni bat. At no 4 : Yuvraj will have to bat at no 5. And there might be occasions where he needs to slog from ball one. Yuvraj is struggling to time nowadays. Also Kedar at 6 will be a bit wasted. Because I think he is a busy player and more suited for no 4 or at Max 5. At no 5 : Yuvraj will bat at 4. Dhoni at 5. Seems comparatively better. But again Kedar at 6 will be wasted and also how much can you trust dhoni to slog from ball one. No 5 is the most crucial position in my opinion and batsman at this position can make or break matches. At no 6 : Want him to bat at this position. One of Yuvraj or dhoni should bat at this position i.e if yuvraj at 4 , dhoni at 6; if dhoni at 4, Yuvraj at 6 and depending on situation send even Pandya if playing ahead of the one at 6. Discuss.
  12. After 15 overs KKRs score was 118/3 and they just needed 50 runs in 5 overs. They were running away with the match . If they applied some mind and batted intelligently ( aka Dhoni way of chasing ) they might have easily scored 8/9 runs in an over without any risk and might have gone bang bang in the end even if they need 14/15 in the last over !!! KKR went for bang bang unnecessarily in a slow pitch and got KLPD in the end !!! This match proves that the chasing style discoverd ( or invented ) by our MSD is the best and works most of the times !!! Eliminate the risk and wait for the right moment to strike !!!

  14. IPL 2017: How Gautam Gambhir imitated Shah Rukh Khan from Chak De to plot RCB's downfall at Eden Gardens Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made quite the statement while annihilating Royal Challnegers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday. After being skittled out for a paltry 131 batting first at the high-scoring Eden Gardens, the hosts came out all guns blazing to create Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Who would expect a line-up with the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle could be shot out for less than 50 in a T20 game! But KKR did the impossible with a stunning exhibition of fast-bowling. Their pace quartet of Nathan Coulter-Nile, Umesh Yadav, Chris Woakes and Colin de Grandhomme were simply too hot for RCB to handle. What many don't know, however, is the fact that KKR achieved this remarkable feat on the back of some stirring words by their captain Gautam Gambhir. Much like what KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan did in the inspirational movie Chak De! India , Gambhir gave a rousing speech to his team-mates after their dismal performance with the bat. In a column written for the Hindustan Times, Gambhir reflected upon his mind-set before the start of RCB's innings on Sunday. The Delhi lad was left fuming after his team's poor showing with the bat and even a cold shower couldn't cool him down. "As the innings break was nearing the end I got the entire team together. I started speaking and let go of all I had. I wanted intensity from my teammates. I wanted them to fight. I wanted them to win," wrote Gambhir. The 35-year-old then went on to reveal a serious threat made by him to his mates at that time. "I told them whoever dropped on intent should understand that this could be his last game for KKR, at least in my captaincy." Gambhir also remembered how his team-mates were "shocked and surprised" after his emotional pitch to them. He revealed how he had always been a relaxed skipper at KKR and had never imposed himself. "I thought that we were not taking enough pride. I am happy to lose spots on the IPL Fairplay award list but I can not see my team slipping on the points table," he wrote.
