Muloghonto
Allright, so here's the deal. We all like picking ATG teams and such, but to make matters interesting, we are going to pick TWO ATG-XIs to face off against each other. The objective is to make two XIs of great players, so they balance each other as well as possible, to face each other, in a hypothetical 'tour of the world' scenario. It will be a 7 test series in the following locations : 1st Test: Lords 2nd Test: Bridgetown 3rd Test: St. John's 4th Test: MCG 5th Test: WACA 6th Test: Chennai 7th Test: Eden Gardens I've tried, with the locations, to include pitches that are seam & swing friendly ( Lords, Bridgetown), Balanced in general (MCG & Eden Gardens), spinners paradise ( Chennai), bounce paradise (WACA) and batsmen's paradise ( St. John's). Rules: Can't think of many 'normalizing rules' but here's a few: a) If one of the sides contains Bradman, due to his awe-inspiring stats, that side must also contain a top six batsman with less than 40 average, to balance out Bradman. Else, that side automatically has a decisive advantage. b) If Gilly is picked, since he is the only wicketkeeper-bat to average nearly 50, the same rule as Bradman applies, to balance out the sides. c) rules a+b only apply if the players are picking a conventional route side of 5+1+1+4 model or 6+1+4 model. For example, you pick a side that is 10 all-rounders and 1 wicket-keeper or 2 openers, 1 wicket-keeper and 8 all-rounders, disregard rules a) and b) Now..Go! PS: A prediction of this hypothetical test series, as in who you think will win the series and by what scoreline, would be nice but not required :) Edited December 12, 2018 by Muloghonto Link to comment

HippoSucks
Based on video footage, plenty of modern left armers (with worse stats though) are much better than Davidson. I don't trust stats from before the 70s because it was a completely different game. Link to comment
