Mohammed Shami was supreme throughout, and probably our MVP in this tournament. He presented a constant threat and is definitely the most skilled and relentless of our pace bowlers. He is probably India's real pace sensation (after Zak and Kapil Dev in history).

Bowled well but at the same time he was crrap at the death against England and Bangladesh. That's the reason insecure and phattu Rat took him out the XI .

Look you won't get everything right. Something has to be sacrificed for other. Shami had to play the game in place of Bhuvi. Pitch was very good for bowling and more than death bowling wickets at the top were required. NZ has a good middle order but with top 3 down they are prone to collapse especially if surface has something in it. Nothing has been learned from Champions trophy. Kohli is fakest celeb right now. Aggressive? LoL. Defensive as *.

BTW Bhuvi needs to be discarded for good. Time to groom new bowlers even if they may not look good as good as bhuvi now.

You need to manage your bowlers well. By bowling Shami out early and holding most of Bumrahs overs for the death the pace attack becomes a lot more effective.

Kohli is fattu captain, All his talks about Ruthlessness in nothing but farce, NZ used to back Mitchell McLanaghan who is wicket taker but used to go for runs,Rohit backed him In MI, Had Rohit been captain then Shami surely would have been backed by him.

There are enough candidates. saini, mavi, nagarkoti, etc.

Enough of ODIs for Shami. Preserve whatever little he has to offer for Tests..

 

For ODI, bring in Saini, Mavi, Nagarkoti, Avesh, and of course Bumrah. Bhuvi still has some more ODI bowling left in him..

although khaleel has regressed, he should be in the mix. we are missing a good leftie. other teams like Pak, NZ, and Oz have options. reminds me of the days we had to choose between zak, nehra, RP, Irfan.

No harm trying him. But we should get to the best 3-4 bowlers irrespective of left or right preferences

yes, I agree. I am not arguing he should be picked just because of that. But, if he can grab his chances and do well, then he will be able to contribute something the others can't - the left-arm angle.
