Franco Vazquez
Why didn’t he retire after the WC? It’s kinda hypocritical of Tenda’s fans to be asking Dhoni to retire when their FAVOURITE didn’t retire at the right time even though he was a shadow of himself after the WC Norman, Adi BB, haiwan and 6 others 2 7 Link to comment

Dhoni has stayed 3 years too many. Tendulkar was our top scorer in 2011 WC and was performing as good as any. Why would he have retired if he was doing well. While Dhoni has lost us umpteenth games in last 3 years. Edited July 16, 2019 by rkt.india Switchblade, Norman, Nikola and 5 others 1 7 Link to comment

When have you seen any batter retire just after achieving his highest high? Fact is he played in the IPL unnecessarily, got exhausted (injured?) & skipped the WI tour - that was IMO his biggest mistake! Then came the England series & it all went downhill, the hype of 100th ton especially by the media brought about his downfall. However he was still our best/2nd best batter down under & then continued in tests probably because Dravid, VVS retired at the same time. Now you could argue, whether he should've played till the 200th test but that's where the selectors come in. Also before you bring in Dravid & VVS check their test records since 2007, except England 2011 Dravid failed in most series & VVS only had a handful of good innings himself. Dhongi hasn't been anywhere near his best since 2014, there's no comparison here! People still bitching about SRT even though it's Dhongi who's screwed nearly an entire generation of youngsters because of his greed, how lame Stradlater, Stan AF, Bhaiyya and 4 others 4 3 Link to comment
New guy
1)Sachin was in great form and actually helped win the world cup 2) he clearly said he didn't want to distract from the teams world cup win, if he has decided to retire all the talk would be of his retirement and not the win He retired well within a year sandsaims and bahubali 1 1 Link to comment

Franco Vazquez
Sachin continued to play for his greed of stats and now dhoni is playing due to greed of money through sponsors and all. Can’t compare the two Switchblade, Stradlater, sandsaims and 2 others 2 1 2 Link to comment

G_B_
The reasons (a) Sachin won the world cup in 2011 in which he was a top scorer. MSD had a poor WC. (b) Sachin had already retired from T20. There is a fear MSD wants to play T20 WC in Aus in 2020. (c) He played 10 matches only after the WC in 2011. Most of them were in a tri series v SL and Aus. Have no issues if MSD decides he is going to retire after say the WI series. One can argue that Sachin overstayed his welcome in the test arena. But not LOI. bahubali and Stradlater 2 Link to comment
Bigg Brother
Sachin scored over 400 runs with 2 centuries in that wc.And he hardly played ODIs after that, Even in his last ODI he scored 50 runs against Pakistan..Comparing present time Dhongi to that time Sachin is ridiculous.Sachin prolonged his test career for 2 years and still played few good looking innings during those years unlike Dhongi who requires cushion of his PR circulating nonsense like advice, experience and not to forget that sucking from captain. sandsaims, Norman, bahubali and 1 other 4 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Not a legitimate comparison. Dhoni's stats were utterly awful until he scored some runs in Australia against b string Australian attack. His strike rate has been horrible for the last few years. His batting against spin was degrading all the time. He made really costly errors in the world cup. Dhongi should have retired after 2015. If at all his PR & mai-baaps in BCCI have helped him stay for 4 more years sandsaims and bahubali 2 Link to comment
Kerberos
He did retire after 2011 world cup in no time and he was good in WC2011. It's been since WC2015 where Dhoni was ordinary and still counting years. Link to comment

Nikola
Sachin ended worldcup with top form and played 10 more odi matches after that. Dhoni if anything was done by 2015 and had pretty avg worldcup back then but still kept playing till now which still is accepted but dhoni risked india's chances of winning worldcup which sachin never did. sandsaims, Stradlater and Switchblade 1 2 Link to comment
