Why didn’t Tendulkar retire after WC2011?

Why didn’t he retire after the WC? It’s kinda hypocritical of Tenda’s fans to be asking Dhoni to retire when their FAVOURITE didn’t retire at the right time even though he was a shadow of himself after the WC

Why didn't Dhoni retire after 2015 WC. Dhoni has stayed 3 years too many. Tendulkar was our top scorer in 2011 WC and was performing as good as any. Why would he have retired if he was doing well. While Dhoni has lost us umpteenth games in last 3 years.

That's just BS, he was the world's best batter in 2010/11 including tests! When have you seen any batter retire just after achieving his highest high? Fact is he played in the IPL unnecessarily, got exhausted (injured?) & skipped the WI tour - that was IMO his biggest mistake! Then came the England series & it all went downhill, the hype of 100th ton especially by the media brought about his downfall. However he was still our best/2nd best batter down under & then continued in tests probably because Dravid, VVS retired at the same time. Now you could argue, whether he should've played till the 200th test but that's where the selectors come in. Also before you bring in Dravid & VVS check their test records since 2007, except England 2011 Dravid failed in most series & VVS only had a handful of good innings himself.

Dhongi hasn't been anywhere near his best since 2014, there's no comparison here! People still bitching about SRT even though it's Dhongi who's screwed nearly an entire generation of youngsters because of his greed, how lame :hmpf:

The reasons

(a) Sachin won the world cup in 2011 in which he was a top scorer. MSD had a poor WC.

(b) Sachin had already retired from T20. There is a fear MSD wants to play T20 WC in Aus in 2020.

(c) He played 10 matches only after the WC in 2011. Most of them were in a tri series v SL and Aus. Have no issues if MSD decides he is going to retire after say the WI series.

One can argue that Sachin overstayed his welcome in the test arena. But not LOI.

Sachin scored over 400 runs with 2 centuries in that wc.And he hardly played ODIs after that, Even in his last ODI he scored 50 runs against Pakistan..Comparing present time Dhongi to that time Sachin is ridiculous.Sachin prolonged his test career for 2 years and still played few good looking innings during those years unlike Dhongi who requires cushion of his PR circulating nonsense like advice, experience and not to forget that sucking from captain.

+1.. Dhongi should have retired after 2015. If at all his PR & mai-baaps in BCCI have helped him stay for 4 more years
