They can try him in T20s as openers than decide about ODIs. Most teams use T20s as experiment for ODIs except india.

He can bat in middle order

their are already many options for openers - mayank, shaw, gill, rahul........

We already dont have many middle order option, if start throwing these guys in opening we wont even have good option for middle order

now even dropping him wud also look like mistake.....coz when u give someone a chance give them few games atleast or else ull go back to them thinking they werent given enough chances

yehi chance chance karte to world cup haar gaye ,is kaptaan ke chakkar me ,team fir bhi ni bani na hi no 4 mila.kaptaan sahab though has gotten more endorsements so i guess all is alright

Putiya Kohli again benches Rahul.  Rahul who started in middle order in WC, not suddenly does not play in the middle order.  Some seriously random decisions are taken.

rohit n kohli also bats by holding one end and then gill also will hold one end up so how are we doing anything diff . Even iyer at 4 has his limitation ....he is no abdv or yuvraj singh

Rahul place in t20 shudnt be even in question

Nitish Rana instead of Pandey I think.  Explosive option he is & Gill or Rahul both can open.  Current team is full of ****.

I thought Gill and Rohit are quite handy batsmen they not just hold one end but also got  4 th gear to their batting as required . Other option if it does not work out will be of Mayank Agarwal , who is definitely a  t20 player.

I am not sure bother that Virat is very liberal captain to give young stars  the chances .

yea but they all go in 4th n 5th gear towards the end ........gill n kohli cant do the damage what rohit can do 

Mayank hasnt been gr8 in IPL

Shaw is a good option....i knw he is banned but he ll come back, Rahul is another option who i feel can bat at 4 as well

Starting With Ind-WI LOI series 

1. To start with Kohli going for LOI series has basically taken one spot for no reason which cud have been given to a youngster like Gill ....now iyer, rahul cant even get a spot in XI
2. Selection inconsistencies  - why am i putting this on captain as well coz its his vision as well and he is the one with impatience problem

• Gill goes on NZ tour plays 2 games ...gets dropped in Aus series
• Mayank goes in WC ...warm benches and gets dropped from Next series 
• Rahul plays in Whole Wc and next series in t20 which is his most powerful format ...he gets dropped 
• Dhawan, Jadeja, Manish pandey selection in t20 format which has been their weakest over so many years Baffling selection

 

     3. Baffling Final XI selections- Lets says for a second if selectors have messed up but what about playing XI 

• Manish pandey, dhawan over KL rahul - This is the single reason that KL who has been going through techincal issue has been put under insecurity which doesnt help any players mindset 
• Benching a leggie like Rahul chahar

 

 

4. KL Dropped again n Again- He gets dropped for Dhawan n Manish in t20 and now he gets dropped from ODI after making runs in world cup....he was no.4 now he isnt even inXI 

5. Saini dropped - Dropped for bhuvi who has been struggling to pick wkts with new ball
