But NZ generally want more than 2 Test series themselves. They make more money having LOI games in the tour. hence 5 T20Is

Not just NZ, all boards look to maximize their once every cycle lottery ticket that is the Indian tour to their home shores.

Nz pitches are weird, start of as unplayable green mambas and then turn into the flattest of roads.  I expect 1-0 either way with 1 test being a draw.

Nzl has produced a lot more draws these days iirc.

i think our Hitman wont like chilly NZ weather more than the swing..  :giggle:

They have a scary batting line up.

Latham, Williamson, Taylor, Watling, Nichols all can score daddy 100s

CDG at #7, Santner at #8 wow

Many LHBs, 5 or 6, can go up to 7 !!!! Ashwin can't be ruled out, he tormented them in 2016 home series so psychological edge. I liked what I saw of him this season on non-traditional pitches, didn't do badly in the previous overseas cycle bar when he was playing with injury.

@maniac if we lose the NZ series I will concede that this team will never surpass the 2007-10 one. But at home Super V's team is better

Super V’s team is bashing some really Lallu-Panju teams. Credit where due they can only smack whats in front of them.

And yes we have the best fast bowling line up in our history. That is a no-brainer

Earlier teams weren't ruthless enough to smash lallu panju sides.

Few things will decide the outcome of this series

1. Will TM continue to show faith in 3 pacers + 2 spinners formula, with Jadeja batting at 6?
2. Will we pick a specialist keeper in Saha (74 runs in last 4 tests@24, getting demoted below Jadeja to no. 7 now)

3. Will the TM back Rohit as opener if he fails in practice matches? (on two slightly bowler friendly tracks, managed 27 runs vs BD)

4. Will the spin friendly pitch bullIies Ashwin (and Jadeja) finally put in any noteworthy performances with the ball in SENA?
5. Can Mayank Agrawal build on his successes in Australia and bat for a couple of sessions especially in the first test?
6. Can Rahane continue his good form (2 100s and 5 50s in last 10 innings, albeit vs inferior opposition + a higher average than Kohli in Tests won vs SENA+ WI away in last 5 years despite mostly being crap over the last 2-3 years

7. Punjara’s batting form (and not so much Kohli’s own form)

The TM will certainly back him as opener even if he fails in practice matches.

The first test match vs BD is not in bowling friendly conditions. He threw it with his own recklessness. This is what I dislike about him. I really want him to succeed as a test cricketer but he keeps disappointing me whenever I start trusting him that he found the right temperament. His low score in the first test match is a reflection of his poor temperament than slightly bowler friendly conditions!
