Why are Americans so worried about the stock market economy? This RW nut bag says he’d rather die working and save the country.. what a loony! If we all survive this, won’t the stock market come back?

Trump is saying that America will resume normal life by the time Easter comes. Contrast this with other world leaders calling for total lockdown, including Boris Johnson.

Things will get really serious when governments have to take a call to lift lockdown because they cant close down everything forever. Even complete lockdown will result in large scale loss of jobs and poverty which will lead to deaths.

But if everyone goes back to their jobs, it will cause the spread even more. So some tough decisions need to be made in the following months. Especially, things can get really ugly in India because health infrastructure is dismal and population density is very high, which can lead to rapid spread.

But so far, things seem to be holding out in India partly because of lack of widespread contact between people here and foreigners and also could be because of hot weather. I read a report which suggests that the virus spreads the most in temperature between 5 and 11 degree Celcius and all the virus hotspots seem to follow this trend.

Have to say, government is doing a good job of trying to tackle the spread by enforcing lockdown rather than waiting too long as it happened in Europe and US but more could have been done in terms of testing possible cases.

Hopefully, the number of cases will decline in the following months and damage will be less than devastating.

India is still a agricultural society and thus, the impact will not be as significant as developed nations on the people level. Next, there are many informal jobs, and these people have been provided reliefs by various states.

Today, whoever maintains limited expenses can survive, and thus India is better placed than most countries. Majority of our people have minimal lifestyle and expenses compared to western counterparts with loads of unnecessary things.

Oh boy! More details to follow

Not having ventilators will cause more deaths in NY, this rich country was so not prepared. They could have tested in airports much earlier or stopped travel to Italy. Instead, Trump was braving it saying it is a hoax like climate change. Irresponsible idiot.

What they don't get is that this is not about them willing to die.  It is about them helping stop the spread of the virus to those vulnerable ones who would get super-sick, overwhelm the hospitals, increase Covid and non-Covid death-rates, set off even more panic, and send this thing spiraling faster into a full-blown depression.  Locking down is definitely a very difficult decision but may be the least-$hitty option.   The only way to avoid a total lockdown is to test everyone.  Get the positives to stay home and the negatives to go about their lives.  An alleged powerhouse like USA should be able to pull this off ($100 per test x 350 million = $35 billion, which is peanuts), but there is no willingness to do anything remotely rational.

And followed it up with even more BS about hydroxyquinoline being a cure or preventative, when the actual results are very preliminary and the evidence is flimsy.  And people are hoarding this stuff making it unavailable for others who need it for legitimate prescriptions.  Clusterfcuk all the way around

One tested postive at work last reported to work 12 days ago. Not in my group or worked closely. They did clean his work area, location still open as we are essential services, I am wfh this week. NY cases are worse, running out of ventis, Even non-covid critical cases are lost because of overwhelming covid cases. **** scared now

Be careful, friend.  Take isolation seriously.

Those in essential services are real-life heroes.

People here are stocking up on the AB Azax-500.

Is there any merit to the claim that this provides some kind of symptomatic treatment to Coronavirus related ailments? Some doctors have also attested to the efficacy of this drug this in a very diplomatic manner.

The Azax-500 packaging mentions that it doesn't provide and relief from Flus and colds.  Or viral infections.

Who does one trust?

Crazy times.

@coffee_rules Stay strong. Like Param said, the essential services people are the real heroes. :hatsoff: to you.

TTD is distributing groceries, medical kits to the poor in the district. Some gurudwaras are stepping up during crisis time by distributing masks and food packets. I am sure churches and dargahs are doing their bit, even providing resting place for the homeless will be helpful. Hope to see more places of worship take leadership roles and set shining examples for their communities.
