In a bizarre claim,  Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said in his weekly column in Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' that 'Namaste Trump' event held in Ahmedabad to welcome US President Donald Trump in February was responsible for the spread of coronavirus COVID-19 in Gujarat, Mumbai and Delhi. It is to be noted that some delegates of President Trump had visited these cities during the US president's visit.

A couple of other amusing things recently:

Supreme court instructs Railways about fares and food etc. Aakhir le lo Railway Ministry aur chalao trains aur catering.

Dusra Railways & MH spat on trains. Kya bakwas hai yaar, work for the people rather than play blame game.

Quite possible. Not closing international flights or quarantining international passengers early is costing india dearly.

This is a big reason for the start of the virus in India .

Compare to germany ,they made the hotels nearby the airports as quarantine centres and didnt allow passengers to go straight to home .

Allowing these jahil tableeghi was another big mistake by the indian embassies in the respective countries.

government has stopped giving data but The total cases (found by tracing)from these jamatis is a big percentage of the total cases in  the country

Hindsight is a bliss. Germany has ore deaths than india, almost similar number of cases. So that didnt help germany much. Virus spreads so fast that even one person can infect hundreds.

Germany would have been a hotbed of deaths same as italy or france but have a look at their death percentages ,they did a terrific job in isolating the cases when the rest if the world were struggling since feb end .one fact maybe that the chinese influx in germany is quite low compared to UK,swiss, italy,Spain

India will eventually surpass Germany in the death toll ,not saying India have done badly ,we done pretty ok I believe and especially not allowing this disease to reach the rural areas .

Wasn't that because state medical infrastructure is God awful in Gujarat?

That is because the dangerous strain (L strain I think) of the virus has got into mumbai and ahmedabad .

No state could have dealt with it any better be it Tamil nadu ,Karnataka ,delhi had that strain got here .

Gujarat still has a good recovery rate of 60+ % and daily cases are not coming in huge numbers ,hopefully they flatten the curve quickly .

Ok thanks . That's bad news. And here I was thinking we are safer in the south with better medical facilities.

Nothing will be safer once the lockdown ends and inter state travel starts ,because plenty of states still dont have proper guidelines for quarantine of travellers be it bus ,train or plane .

For example delhi does not have any guideline for quarantine of any traveller ,but UP and Bihar have strict rules for 14 days quarantine for travellers .

States have to be strict in these regards
