Clarke
Pappu Gandhi wants to know why were soldiers unarmed at LAC. Athawale, that go corona go genius who's a minister, thinks "Chinese" restaurants should be banned. Someone tell these armchair politicians, those books they have in the background while talking to media are meant to be read. G_B_
There seems to be some confusion as to who is inside where especially in the media. The truth is unlike Pakistan India Border. LAC is different for China and India. What i can say is none of our permanent outputs have been overrun. Post the clashes the Chinese have retreated around 1km from where they were. More than territory its all about BDO airfield and the road linking it. Galwan valley remains the key in all of this.

Manny_Pacquiao
This 'boycott china' appeal is f***ing hilarious. YOU CANNOT BOYCOTT A COUNTRY THAT MAKES EVERYTHING YOU OWN. It is impossible. Unless you magically improve your manufacturing capabilities. Which will never happen, because people in india are too corrupt and incompetent. Here's the bitter truth: Quote In macrocosm, China’s strengths in industry after industry and large local market makes a large shift away to India, whatever land for factories is on offer, impossible. Supply chains turn out to be harder to rip apart than pulling out railway tracks with bare hands, even when an intemperate White House is breathing fire. An American Chamber of Commerce survey in China released last month found the vast majority of US companies had no plans to move production outside the country. “China appears ahead of the global curve when it comes to restarting the economy," AmCham China president Alan Beebe said. Kathrin Hille, Greater China correspondent for the Financial Times in Taipei, who has for several years covered Foxconn, the largest contract manufacturer in the world for Apple, predicts that smartphone assembly is unlikely to move substantially from China. https://www.livemint.com/news/india/india-is-chasing-an-elusive-china-dream-11589988309466.html That's ^^^^ a great article, by the way. Long, but worth reading. Hypothetically, even if india brings its manufacturing standards in-line with those of china - in terms of productivity + cost - you're still way behind. China has a level of expertise that was created over several decades. And you can bet that india won't enjoy the benefits of full technological transfer that china once did (for obvious reasons). Norman
One thing I'm noticing on SM from 2 days is how people in the West are making memes on China's butt kicking yesterday and it's the butthurt Chinki slaves a.k.a bakees who are getting riled up More than the Chinese (I mean there are not many Chinese a on Tw, IG, FB etc anyways) , it's them pakeez who're jumping up and down on SM defending the bat-eaters on every forum possible saying that "iNdIAn mEdIa iZ LyINg about our cHiNeSe pApAs dYiNG". And when firangis ask uncomfortable questions like how they kept lying about Bin Laden , it's awkward silence again. Our imports from China are around $70 billion. This is 2.5% of GDP. Before I get into details. Do you constitute this 2.5% of GDP "everything you own" as being from China? sandeep
PLA squatting firmly on Finger 4 at Pangong Tso. Looks like Indian Army is trying to stop them from achieving a similar ground position at Galwan. Aside from the shouting, it is increasingly clear that the Chinese have decided to take this chance to alter the status quo and grab dominant ground positions, i.e. shift the LAC. This is very serious. Indian army needs to get their s_hit together, they were caught napping earlier on. That excuse does not exist. Massive reinforcements are needed along the LAC, and if jinping thinks he can unilaterally landgrab across the LAC, while simultaneously feinting on accepted borders, India should go ahead and do the same, where the terrain suits us, or more importantly, where the terrain would enable us to threaten Chinese positions. This is very, very, serious. What bothers me is that everybody today is focused on Galwan, while it looks like the Chinese have essentially pulled off a landgrab at Pangong Tso, and it appears that nothing can be done about it. G_B_
and if I am being rational for the typical Indian. Food is mostly grown locally. The cars you own are mostly build in India. Yes some parts are probably imported from China,, but those form a relatively small % of the car. The clothes you wear are mostly made in India with Indian cotton. Cement and Steel mostly we meet our requirements locally. So very likely the house you have has very limited Chinese hand. What we import from China is chemicals (used in pharma and other products) so the medicines you buy probably have some chinese indirect hand and consumer electronics. Other minor sector are toys etc.
