This happened and Grant let it go just like that?

Looks a bit unbelievable.

It is either something that was done in a fun kind of way or he is exaggerating.

He couldn't be so hard pressed for money that he had to lay low and continue to work after having a knife on his throat.

Mickey Arthur also confirmed that this incident happened. Younis Khan was going through rough patch of form and Grant Flower, being a batting coach went to advice him. Khan got egoistic that how can anyone advice a star like him and hold the kitchen knife to his throat. Mickey and Grant being gentleman decided the let go this matter as Pak team was in the middle of a tour and they did not wanted any controversy. Younis Khan apparently scored some runs in 2nd innings and everything was forgotten.

So this incident definitely happened.

Oltmans was their field hockey coach for a brief period of time, he had coached us for many years prior to that. On a talk show when asked to explain the cultural differences between the two camps he said Indians were easy going while Pakistani players would try to convert him to Islam and explain stanzas from Quran, they would take out their lighters to explain hellfire...after a very short time (couple of months) he handed over his resignation to PHF and said that it is impossible to function in such an environment. Dressing rooms of Pak teams must be torture for sane people. Day is not far of when we see them start doing real life PUBG.

Another reason we never want these guys in IPL. First learn to behave like civilized beings FGS, had this happened in any other country that player would have been handed a life ban and police would have wanted a look. In Pakistan, just another day.

Woolmer's death was so tragic.

And he had to wait all these years to let it out? I am not so sure. All the whites that I have met in real life are straightforward and dont take BS so easily. And this was an attempt to murder, literally. Cant believe someone would not even report the incident.

From what I heard that Bob Woolmer was against Tableeghi Jamaat, and because of it players became much more serious with religion and that affected their game, that flamboyance of the 90s was gone and their cricket was more defensive.

Don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but Tableeghi Jamaat may have some connection with Woolmer incident.
