Kohli - our fast bowling captain.

Kohli is still a fast bowlers' captain. We have seen him use 2 fast bowlers in tests in Asia with regularity and reaping the rewards too.

Problem is ... he is also a very " reactive captain "  ( we see how he changes fields frequently and places fielders where the last ball went )   and not the brightest bulb in the pack. But he enjoys complete power.

Ashwin does well last match ... Bumrah and Bhuvi not present ... so he plays 2 spinners in this match irrespective of conditions.

Frankly speaking ... it is quite clear that he does not have confidence in either Umesh or Shardul ... so why not pick a Siraj  !!

Our fast bowlers are bottlers. They have bottled second game in a row after taking top five wickets for not much.

Precisely this. Batsmen did bad but they were up against cluderson on a cloudy day. But England get to face bottler Indian bowlers who cannot keep the intensity for an entire innings.

You need to play or be able to play multiple low average pacers to take wickets fast outside Asia.

Bumrah and Bhuvi are missing due to injury and only Shami is there.

Should have picked Siraj.

Can't expect Ishant, Umesh and Pandya to pick wickets with regularity.

Didnt they bowl consistantly well in SA? Bowled too many boundary balls today. If nothing was going their way, atleast could have stemmed the flow of runs by bowling wide of offstump and employing a 6-2 field.

Woakes has major issues against the short ball.

On their tour to India, Woakes had a tough time against hostile bouncers by Shami and got out too. Other teams have targeted him similarly.

Yesterday, one bouncer by Ishant had him in a tangle. But we did not really try thic tactic on Woakes and he took the game away.

Poor planning I would say.  Bowling coach and coach should have these tactics ready.

The Most surprising thing, was last time Ishant won us the lord test by bowling bouncers only, how can he forget that.
