Gill is available to grovel but is his neck up to it?

Forever Indian reacted to Gollum in Gambhir v Dravid as coach
As someone who doesn't rate Dravid highly, I will say that GG is the worst thing to happen to Indian cricket since the 2000 fixing saga.

Forever Indian got a reaction from express bowling in Are Nitish Reddy, Sai Sudarshan and Dhruv Jurel best batsmen from Indian FC cricket?
You would think coach being a former pure opening batsman would know the value of proper test batsmen... but very apparently it's not.

Forever Indian reacted to express bowling in Are Nitish Reddy, Sai Sudarshan and Dhruv Jurel best batsmen from Indian FC cricket?
Jurel is a very good batsman.
Sai and NKR must be dropped.

Forever Indian reacted to vvvslaxman in Gill not batting due to neck spasm, where is Gambhir's deshbhakti?
Gill is likely to miss the next test. Any chance Harshit Rana replacing him? I won't be shocked.

Forever Indian reacted to BacktoCricaddict in Thoughts on Sai missing out/Sundar at 3...?
Sundar's bowling would be much more respected if his 2024 efforts against NZ had resulted in wins for India.
He took 16 wkts in 3 tests at an avg of 14.xx (with both Ashwin and Jadeja in the team!!). But the batsmen botched it up, the team was humiliated and his bowling efforts were largely forgotten

Forever Indian reacted to vvvslaxman in Thoughts on Sai missing out/Sundar at 3...?
From cricinfo
Washington Sundar faced more balls across two innings in Kolkata than anyone on either side, and was the only batter to go past the 50-ball mark twice. And he did this with a control percentage of 88.51.
He did this at No. 3, having walked in inside the first ten overs of both innings, on a pitch where the ball was at its worst behaviour when it was new and hard.
He did this while batting at No. 3 for the first time in his Test career

Forever Indian reacted to tapandrun in Why are rohit and Kohli not leaving?
1- Both wants to win Odi world cup and as they have won the T20i Wc they think that they have broken the barrier of not winning the ICC events.
2- They still are biggest earners for the board bringing most of the sponsorships and endorsements
3- This is more fr Rohit than fr kolhi- Being an active Ind player keeps their stocks high in IPL and helping them keeping the stocks high.
Rohit does not have same kind of status in his IPL team as Kolhi has for rcb and Dhoni for CSK
4-Both are white-ball masters but they do not have anything to show for it, if they wont win the Odi wc their legacy will be tarnished and their their records be consider fake and critical ppl will find the gaps why they did not win any Odi wc when one of them is considered the best white-ball batter and the other best white ball opener.
5-To continue the lifestyle which they are enjoying right now they need to create legacy so that inflow of the mny continues as its hard to imagine that both will come to broadcasting or coaching.
6- By extension of all the reason they are still making a lot of mny an they would still want ot milk it and as their is no other obvious new big star the sponsors would also like them to carry-on.

Forever Indian reacted to StraightDrive26 in 'Washington Sundar doesn’t even spin the ball,' Harbhajan Singh questions off-spinner's Team India selection
Okay Washington Sundar has 48 wickets in T20Is at an economy rate of under 7. He has been very consistent in this format. It was very poor of SKY to not bowl him only because of Australia having two right handers in the middle. Dube+Sharma gave away 56 runs for 1 wicket in 4 overs, don't think Sundar could have done worse. He is used to bowling in power play and surely would have bowled better. Sundar is good enough to play all formats for India just as a batter. I am not sure how well he will do in the middle order but he has all the shots in the book and is technically a very sound batter. His bowling is a bonus and he is a very good bowler. His economy in ODIs is 4.86 and T20Is is 6.94 which is fantastic in this era.

Forever Indian got a reaction from crictime in 'Washington Sundar doesn’t even spin the ball,' Harbhajan Singh questions off-spinner's Team India selection
Seniority plays a major part in these contract gradings, as one format players like Rohit and Kohli are on A+ grade contracts. Also have seen so many Grade A and B players suddenly without contract in following year because they are no longer in scheme of things.
So it all fluctuates and the contract grading happens only once a year, so it's not Black n White...

Imagine being called you are not a T20 cricketer after effortlessly winning a difficult T20I chase for your team.
Didn't bowl yesterday but he can open the bowling and bowl at the death. Is a defensive bowler but difficult to hit.
With the bat, has hardly batted above 7/8. I hope the TM trusts him more. Could be a great replacement for Jadeja in the T20 WC squads.
Only one downside of him playing LOIs is he doesn't get to play enough domestic cricket, which is critical for his development as a test cricketer.

Forever Indian reacted to crictime in Historic ODI WC win for Indian women (ODI WC 2025)
Well done indeed. The semi finals was a neck to neck win with few balls remaining, but here India were favorites once we posted 298.

Forever Indian got a reaction from Cloud in Mohammed Shami doubles down, refuses to buy Ajit Agarkar's comment about his fitness: 'Let him say whatever he wants'
If Shami is bowling at his usual pace, there is no reason to exclude him just because of age...
A lot of Indian bowlers usually reduce speed as they age reducing their effectiveness. Shami meanwhile post his injuries previously was able to maintain his pace of mid to high 130ks. So selectors will have to physically go to the venues he is playing to see how he is bowling...
