No it is not... lol. You are a waste of place and time if you cannot bat. This is not gymnastics.

Lannister got a reaction from raki05 in Pujara, the king!
He need to change his mindset when playing first innings. His approach works well for the final day of play, but brings a negative mindset when the situation demands to be on offensive.

    But he played well yesterday.

Lannister got a reaction from Stan AF in Does Kohli have ZERO conscience?
For someone who's supposed to be the best batsman in the team, he sure has lot of inferiority complex. Does he think that he will not be able to survive if he steps down from the captaincy? Surely, money cannot be the reason for him at this point of time in his career.

Lannister reacted to ShoonyaSifar in Does Kohli have ZERO conscience?
How can anyone even with an iota of conscience left stick to captaincy a few hours after his stand-in captain had delivered perhaps the biggest test series win of all times? With what face will Kohli justify Rahane not being the captain? Kohli doing the honorable thing and stepping down would have only given a much bigger PR boost to his image (which he so brazenly chases and craves for).

It's not that Kohli hasn't had his time as a captain. He completed 6 years as a test captain sometime back, that's more than an adequate length for any captain. Why can't he just step aside handing over the leadership to a more deserving captain?

Or do the financial benefits attached to captaincy trump all moral and ethical values?

P.S  - the thread is about Kohli the captain and not him as a batsman. I did not want to create this negative thread on such a joyous day but doing so because of the team announcement earlier in the day.

Lannister reacted to The Realist in Pujara - Rahane - Vihari
Has to be the meekest and weakest Ind middle order since oooh the 80s.

Dot ball after dot ball, no intent to score, no cashing in on the bad balls, letting the bowlers bowl to plans and zero innovation.

What exactly is the end game here?

And to top it all, so so boring to watch.

If Covid has not terminally damaged test cricket then having to watch these three bat will push it over the edge.

    Drama related to Rohit

    a) Injury and communications related before and during the early part of the series
    b) Starts communicating with the TM to be appointed the VC in tests (when even is place in the 11 can be questioned)
    c) After staying in quarantine for 14, goes out with 4 youngsters to breach minor protocols (VC gets the blame), risking a ban on those players (though BCCI will sweep it under the carpet)
    d) Ind talks about not playing at Brisbane, when the test match has not been postponed (so no another 14 days quarantine period confirmed yet. And Cricket Aus is unlikely to reschedule too) and making a mountain out of  molehill of potentially staying at the hotel room in the evening and to sleep as in the morning, they would be at the ground anyways ... If Ind does not play, it could be seen as a forfeit with Aus awarded the game without even a ball being played (so 30 points at risk)

The entire series has the potential to leave a bad taste in the mouth maybe because of him. Is it a case of too much politics by one individual?

You may as well start cannibalism if that's your justification. Historically, the pandemics have occurred due to the unsanitary food habits of non-vegans.

I don't mind if people want to eat meat or beef, but there should be a line drawn somewhere over there. As for as the animal cruelty, I still stand with my original pov.

Lannister got a reaction from Stan AF in T Natarajan could make his debut at the SCG - TOI
Since the pitch is going to be on the slower side, it doesn't matter who they are going to pick. Might as well play one more spinner. Saini was erratic and expensive during LOI leg. He knows he didn't use the opportunity well to make his case.

It looks like an ideal bowling attack for pitches like in Sri Lanka, but let's hope SCG turns out to be spin friendly and Rahane or Pujara score 170-180 in an innings.

Lannister reacted to Forever Indian in Kohli's absence: Blessing in disguise for India
Kohli is and will be always a Average captain in Tests and Bad captain in LOIs. His LOIs captaincy we all know is down to him being bad at strategizing and various other reasons, but will give my thoughts on Tests for now.

    Tests
    Chopping and changing:
Kohli is someone who will take responsibility as a batsman and will expect other players and batsmen to do the same, which on the surface looks fine. But then Kohli doesn't realise that for players especially batsmen it is very important that they are not playing for their place each time they get on the field. It takes one ball and one lapse in concentration for a batsman to get out, atleast for bowlers you can come back after a bad spell. This is the main reason batsmen have suffered under his captaincy. It doesn't even take a Loss for Kohli to change teams, still remember for his first 34 or so tests as captain he never had same XI for consecutive tests meaning he was chopping and changing for each and every match. Kohli must remember if the same was done after a couple of failures for him where he would be now? He went full 10 innings without scoring anything in England and still not dropped. Whereas Kohli was dropping Pujara, Rahane, Vijay, Bhuvi, etc at their peak for some non-sensical reasons.

    Not backing youngsters:
In his 7 years of captaincy there has been no notable backing of youngsters for any length of time. Instead we saw likes of Gambhir, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan, etc. given chances when it was clear they were over the hill or not fit for the role. Other than Mayank Agarwal and Bumrah (who came bcos of LOIs) where are your youngsters? Even Mayank has been backed only because Dhawan was injured and he managed to score runs in his first tour otherwise we would have lost him as well.

    Team Preparation:
Pujara playing a blinder of a series in last Australia tour was because he took the initiative to play in County just before that series where the conditions were quite difficult. Even though he scored only one century in County it meant he had practised on tough overseas surfaces which made the challenge of Aussie pitches that much easier to handle. Now, our Captain thinks such practise games are a waste of time BECAUSE HE THINKS IT DOES NOT HELP HIM so he cancels them or makes them redundant for whole team. He cancelled the only practise game before SA tour and had only one redundant game before England tour and he still doesn't realise that just because he doesn't need them the rest of the Team should also be not given practise. He also skipped the Practise game before NZ tour earlier this year and surely he missed it as that showed in his failings.

These are the 3 key reasons even before the team gets to the field how his Captaincy is affecting Team India. On the field, it is clear that Strategically he is not the most adept but as Tests is the least forgiving format for strategizing he has been serviceable. But that is what makes him a bad Captain in LOIs.
