ShoonyaSifar got a reaction from Suhaan in Well done BCCI for successfully completing the IPL despite all odds
Indian cricket can finally heave a huge sigh of relief. Nearly 3000 crs were at stake for the BCCI on this phase 2 of IPL. Despite so many challenges, they have managed to put together a great show with today's final being truly a grand one.
In phase 1 back in April, so many including some jokers on this forum (not surprisingly settled outside India and perhaps not even holding Indian passports any longer), and on social media in general, out of their sheer hate for IPL, did everything they could to derail the tournament (wish we could bump some of those old threads). If it was upto this gang, they would rather kill the IPL altogether. Quite clearly, anything good coming out of the BCCI is an anathema for them.
Thankfully, BCCI knows the importance of IPL and the financial worth it has. Good on them to have stuck to their task despite threats of foreign players not being available, tournament being seen intruding into the T20WC, ICC playing tricks trying to take away hosting rights for the WC etc. While quality of pitches should have been better, overall it has been a great tournament especially for our youngsters.
Now onto the two new teams and auctions early next year.
Well done BCCI and thank you once again for having the best T20 product globally.

ShoonyaSifar got a reaction from nevada in Pujara joins Sussex for County Championship and One Day Tournament
Check his List A record. 4500 runs@54, 11 100s, SR is lower 78, . But for a dodgy knee, could well have played ODIs for India.
Good to see him get a county gig for a few months including early part of the season. Who knows he may still go onto have one last hurrah. Even otherwise, at 34, he definitely has a few more years of FC cricket left in him.

ShoonyaSifar reacted to Throwaib_Chuckter in Two years since Virat Kohli's last international century [Update: 835 days]
The pandemic took its toll on him in a different way. He was famous for pursuing stuff(runs/lady love etc;)with a passion. I feel he has diverted his passion towards his business interests, nothing wrong with that. Given that shelf lives of cricketers are numbered. However, that has impacted his drive and desire to push the boundaries or apply himself as hard on-field. We have seen flashes, but nothing compared to the doggedness that was on display not too long ago; which brought joy to so many.
I'd be glad if he would prove all the naysayers wrong.
Dilli se hu.......
On a realistic note; based on his recent performances, I feel skeptical.

ShoonyaSifar got a reaction from raki05 in Before the first Test match against England last year in Chennai, curator prepared a flat pitch as per the wish of 'higher authorities' from the BCCI and it was against the wish of Ravi Shashtri and Bharat Arun
As Kohli keeps failing, the desperation of now almost powerless Kohli PR keeps getting worse. It will only precipitate Kohli's exit.

LOL watering a pitch on the evening before a test match makes it a patta the next morning? Umm sorry, it will make the pitch way too damp despite the hot Chennai weather.
In any case, the pitch was a patta when England batted but suddenly became a raging turner when we batted?
And then immediately after the 1st test, the higher authorities had a sudden change of heart, changed the curator despite the higher authority being against Kohli, Shastri and co.? And the pitches at Ahmedabad were dustbowls from day 1 Eve at the risk of an ICC ban. Difficult to say if these higher authorities were out to hurt Indian team (Kohli-Shastri) or help them.
Someone tell this guttersnipe KSR that Ganguly, whom he's been indirectly attacking, was recovering from a heart attack and was in and out of hospital in end Jan- early Feb '21.

Criminal on the part of the TM to not let Kuldeep play in the Ranji Trophy. He needs overs under his belt away from the limelight, instead the TM got him first into the LOI teams and benched him.

Surely, you CANNOT, SHOULD NOT, MUST NOT ignore him any longer. Sarfaraz Khan gets yet another hundred. He now averages 77 in FC cricket. He is not just knocking on the door, he is banging on it and you just cannot keep the door shut on him.

ShoonyaSifar got a reaction from raki05 in Babar Azam v Rishabh Pant - who is better test batsman?
Interesting thread and very close comparison.
FC averages
Babar Azam: 42, 8 100s
Pant: 48, 9 100s
Overseas test 100s
Babar Azam: 1, 104 vs Aus
Pant: 3
To top it all, Pant is 3 years younger to Babar.
Numbers say it all. Easy choice on who among them is a better test batsman. Pant

ShoonyaSifar reacted to express bowling in Babar Azam v Rishabh Pant - who is better test batsman?
Pant has already played more cluth match winning knocks in tests than most other batters ever. And he is only 24 and improving.
Plus he puts the opposition under immense pressure even when his team is under pressure. This is priceless.
As a test batsman, he is almost incomparable.
Technique sheqnique my a$$ ... he plays the ball under his eyes ... has a decent idea about his off stump .. plays the short ball and genuine pace rather well. That is more than enough if results are coming.
