Shashi Tharoor slams selectors for Sarfaraz Khan's snub
tapandrun replied to Gollum's topic in Cricket Talk
Kishan was dropped by Drvaid and his management , kishan was not sidelined he thought he was not getting game time and thought that he is just travelling with the side so he said he want to leave the side mid-series and went on mental health break. Rishab also raised the concerns about being only on the bench in Odis as well. Iyer not sure why he fell out of favours but he is now the captain of t20i side and vc of odis and he too was dropped under dravid's management, How is jaiswal's treatment anything to do and wht treatment ?? Sanju was sidelinned for Gill who board think is future all format captain nothing to do with tm as these decisions are above tm and selectors levels. -

Similar stories are there for dhoni and Mishra which mishra later denied said dhoni helped him play. Same stories are for Kolhi and kuldeep where he was dropped out of favours and even in Ipls was not getting much games. -
Kushdil has played 3 games vs Ind -- 1 odi in CT-25 was highest scorer for Pak vs Ind and 2 more T20is. Not sure where he said all this things, but he has hardly played vs Ind to know all the things. Issue here is players with v.less to 0 exp. goes to pod-casts and interview and do not really have much to talk about so such ques and responses come out of such situation.

India 2027 World Cup core squad discussion
tapandrun replied to rangeelaraja's topic in Cricket Talk
Overall SA, Aus and NZ showed they can out score Ind in Odis, Ind lacks fire power and they do not really bat that deep so rely on top4 to do the scoring and also to hit big in last 10 overs. -

Sky is the 1st proper t20 batters ind had. He played t20 as it should have been played. Gets fair criticism for under performing in Icc events. Yet won 2- t20i wc. As a captain too won most of his games, kept team and team-members over his own interest, gave-up his own spot to verma and opting to play at t20is most odd spot #4 causing him to lose the game and finally now looks like he has lost the power game as well. Hope team continues to play as it did under him and the next captain be as selfless and keeps team over themselves as he did.

Shashi Tharoor slams selectors for Sarfaraz Khan's snub
tapandrun replied to Gollum's topic in Cricket Talk
Sarfaraz's name has been in discussions for India selection for a very long time. Even during the tenure of Chetan Sharma and Rahul Dravid, his non-selection was a major talking point. At the time, selectors and team management reportedly communicated with him, saying that his opportunity would come, yet he was still overlooked on multiple occasions. Because of that, putting the entire blame for his non-selection on the current team management and selectors is not entirely fair. As some posters here have mentioned, it appears that the decision-makers do not view Sarfaraz as a strong player against high-quality pace bowling, which has kept him on the fringes of the Test squad. So far, he averages 37 from his first six Tests, all of which have been played in India. The perception may be that he is unlikely to make the strongest XI for SENA tours. His situation is also not as unique as it is sometimes portrayed. Mayank Agarwal faced a somewhat similar scenario. He scored four Test centuries and averaged over 41 as a Test opener, yet once the team management concluded that he was not ideally suited for SENA conditions, he quickly fell out of favour despite having a stronger Test record than many players who received extended opportunities. -

Yes, rathod should have been tried he has been doing well in domestic for sometime now. Test selection is ipl based so players who are more suited for test will never feature in ipl. This tm and selectors are trying to do multiple things : Create a young team around gill , so that it can play 7-8 yrs. together They think there is lot of bating potential in young players so they do not want to give chance of 30 yo or older players to work as stop-gap They are looking IPL as short-cut for batters and thinking if they can play itnl bowlers they can figure test game rather quickly

Did he say, rohit is blocking Jaiswal ???-- Have not seen this video but in multiple videos he is been beating around the bushes when it comes to talking about rohit and kolhi. Jiswal is also picked over rutu and padikkal in odis he has worse sr and avg in List A compared to 2 others As for jurel they have selected him over so many other in the test he leaped frogged others and is now permanent member of the side. During Ipl he was critical of new-players like karthik and Veer but never ques. rutu's place in the side, said he is top player and will come good. Did say anything on Rishab and Rahane not fitting into their respective sides.

BCCI to formulate retirement policy for cricketers
tapandrun replied to Lord's topic in Cricket Talk
Yes bcci should allow even current players to play at-least 1 more league outside ipl -
Yes sarfarz should have been given longer rope but they are continuing with sai who does not even have fc avg of 40, the selection is based on ipl/t20s which is wrong. Sky was picked in Odis and test based on T20s which was again a wrong thing to do, t20s are v.diff from odis and test. Similar why ppl are making case fr kishan and Sanju in odis based on t20is which is wrong. How and where rishab and jaiswal were dropped at the drop of the hat. rishab was taken back to ind test side right after declared fit without much game time in domestics and he was picked in t20i wc without much performances , jaiswal was not dropped from test side. In odi he just played 3 games and is still the back-up opener to rohit. And for t20s he was replaced by better t20 batter

think this is an overreaction, yes certain players always had much power in the system be it dhoni, kolhi , rohit etc.... There has always been preferential treatments to some and some didnt find the same favours which is common over the decades and across the boards. Sky is getting dropped after winning the T20i wc, Rohit removed from captaincy after winning the CT Ind cricket is in transition such thing will happen. Kuldeep has been in Ind side for a v.long time , still feels like he is jr. member of the side, At intnl stage ppl have to make their own space. Rishab once was similar to Gill, they were looking at him as next big thing, and even after bad t20i records were looking to develop him as the captain. Sarfarz may be unlucky in all this as selection is done on IPL basis bt most feel he will have issue with fast bowling and they think sai can be something special. Compared to kuldeep , Chahal is more hard done by selection issue he is amongst the top t20i wkt taker in Ind but never found a place in playing 11 in wcs. The reason was because of this batting and fielding plus no other Ind batter able to bat he lost his place in playing 11 The selection is wrng where they are selecting batters based on Ipls/t20, they should give chances to proper ranji batters in test even if they had to reject them.

India 2027 World Cup core squad discussion

2 spinners ??? -- Think Ind should have 3 proper pacers , Ind didnt develop a lh mo batter but yes looks a realistic playing 11. Other have been posting kind of imaginary 11. top 5 + Pandaya are locked in the batting line-up there is no point is discussing anyother option
