Clarke
Boris Johnson is ballsy to visit Kiev. He's working to build the image of a tough leader in his next election. Anti ship missiles is a big deal. It could inflict big losses to Russian navy and more escalations. It might also work as a deterrence. ravishingravi
Another interesting aspect which we haven’t discussed. It’s rise of India in international politics. I don’t recall at any point in our history all the nations vying for India’s support. Edited April 10, 2022 by ravishingravi AuxiliA

Lone Wolf
Time to sack Kadi ninda.. While Jaishankar stole the show. Kadi ninda kept blabbering & was feeling the heat. Left the tougher question to Jaishankar as well. Old farts are as useless as they come. From the days of Manohar parrikar to this Clarke

What purpose does he serve other than ghisi piti speeches ? Besides comparisons with veteran diplomats or any domain expertise in defence, in the political arena he's not a popular one like Modi, an election fighter like Shah, a karmayogi like Gadkari, a technocrat like Sitharaman/Goyal or even a ground level brawler like Irani. He's better off being a governer. Lone Wolf

He's better off being a governer. Jaishankar is doing massive heavy lifting in almost everything these days. He has to answer most of defense & economy related question these days. He is doing a great job so far but there must be accountability on senior leaders too. Defense minister is a top vital position. Rajnath is good for domestic consumption but not a world class material. Wang YI & Zhao Lijian carry forward Chinese view by playing good cop bad cop. GOI needs someone able to partner Jaishankar as well in these turbulent times. Edited April 14, 2022 by Lone Wolf Clarke and Vilander

Kadi Ninda is not as articulate and credit to him for not letting media have field day and letting Jaishankar have the lead. INfact, Modi has done same, on his China trip when he was CM of Gujrat. He made Jaishanka do proof reading for his statement. Not many can be Jaishankar, Infact i will say we are lucky to have Jaishankar ji. Kadi ninda is delivering very well when it comes to defense. Lets accept it and moove on.

Clarke
Did anyone expect this conflict to go on for so long ? What is Putin's end goal, breaking up some portion in the east ? Is it worth the cost of the conflict in terms of Russian lives & economy besides nudging other European nations towards NATO ?
Clarke
Me thinks we'll see some shift towards US after having bought Russian oil, probably the Super Hornets on our new aircraft carrier. Its anyways a better fit on the hangar lift. Helps align with the QUAD. Edited July 15, 2022 by Clarke

Lone Wolf
Putin is a genius compared to 99.99% of the world's leaders, because he is far better educated than them ( most of them are C average alumni admissions due to daddy's influence in arts crap he is a masters in logic and law: a rare combination for a politician. Furthermore, he comes from the intelligence community which gives him a massive advantage over the normie leaders, due to the virtue of knowing a crap ton more of classified info and what really is happening. People say Russian tech is 'soviet era'? Well thats like saying Yankee tech is vietnam era. Russia still holds the edge over Nato over missile tech and several key sectors like submarine propulsion systems etc their industry in all military sectors is literally the best or second best after the yankees... Also there is no such thing as replacing energy imports for the next 50-60 years while growing the economy. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a pucca moron who's never worked in the energy sector. Future tech is mostly a load of crap and money-making scam for wall street types. Nothing more the world's largest resource holder and net resource exporter is literally as bulletproof as it gets for earning revenue. Russia isn't just the world leader in oil & gas. Its also the world leader or within top 3 for rare earth, a host of critical metals, inert gases etc. Vijy and Vk1 1

It's now completely unplanned and senseless war, and the only reason Putin hasn't lost it is because of his wild cards. That's what gives him some international respect and influence. In war, a goal is always to achieve deterrence, and Russia definitely has failed, as more neighbors resort to anti-Russia policies. Clarke
So the theme in EU is "winter is coming". They're talking of 5-10 years of potentially troublesome winters with cutbacks & price caps. Any european members here wanna share the impact they see on their power bills among other things as well as society in general ?
